I'm so happy that the GR site is back up and running! I didn't realize until today how much I rely on being able to access the site throughout the day to check in and catch up on the updates. It was a little sad for me! How did everyone cope today? Was it a big deal or did you even notice?

Ha! I noticed. I check in at the end of my workday as a way to decompress. I literally kept refreshing the app every 5 seconds. Must-have-book-fix!
Yeah gr messing up sucked today but I got writing done, saw the movie philomena, got to bible and general read soon too. At least I got someone enjoying my AF serial with the rest of my readers.
Goodreads! You're alive!! Don't ever leave me like that again!!! *clings*
I know it was only down for a few hours, but maaaaan, I was heading into withdrawal after two! *deep breaths* Okay, feeling better now. :)
Yay, new banner! It looks awesome, Holly! :D

I had started two books and couldn't add them to my currently-reading shelf! It felt so wrong...
It took me forever as well, Holly. I zipped through A Game of Thrones in less than a day and then spent weeks on A Clash of Kings... I actually set it aside for a little while as well!
Game of Thrones was definitely easier. I started A Clash of Kings like a year ago, but never finished it. Now I'm only like 120 pages from the end!
It is one of my 'big ones' for this month, so I'm glad I got it out the way early. Especially since I have Dune to fit in this month as well.

Can't decide what to read next! Tempted by Journey to the Center of the Earth, but I'm cautious about finding the right translation...
Am I behind already? I have a few books I'm finishing before I start the challenge reads here. Do I have all month?
Karin-
You have all month. We all read (or listen) at a different pace and post as we have something to say. I'm 75% done with Journey to the Center if the Earth, but haven't even started Stiff (but I did purchase a copy). Don't feel pressured. It's all good. :)

Thanks. I have a few other challenges I'm doing on Shelfari (I'm newer to Goodreads, but have friends here that aren't on Shelfari.)
Have any of you guys done the giveaways? I entered a whole bunch the night Noah went to my MILs and Mike went bowling. I won one! It's about ancient Chinese business ideas hehe I entered it for Mike. He loved The Art War which applies to business. I'm going to enter as many that look good, and hope you do, too. ..just don't win the ones I want HAHA
Renee wrote: "Lol. And a good title suckers me every time."Definitely ;) You can tell a lot about a book from first impressions.
I don't think I have enough space on my bookshelves to enter giveaways. Perhaps if they were ebooks. I'd probably only do paper copies if they were classics.

I've entered a bunch of times, but I've never won. Congrats!

Thanks :) I'll read it to review it in exchange for winning but I entered for Mike haha I'll fill up my to-read list with books I'll only read if they give them to me. I should clear that out a bit sone time, too.

Aw, I'm sorry, Amber. :(
Aw, I'm sorry, Amber. :(
Thanks guys and it is heartbreaking because she is not the only pet I've had that has died. When I was younger I had two cats die too and they were all family members to us.
thanks renee and I know. and all dogs go to heaven is a great film! I just hope there is an angel or some kids playing with her right now.
I'm sorry Amber. It is really hard to lose a pet. We lost one of our cats a couple years ago, and we still miss him.
thanks Holly and Lorah. it is. we all miss her a lot. A neighbor had poisoned her and she was so sweet and innocent.
Amber wrote: "thanks Holly and Lorah. it is. we all miss her a lot. A neighbor had poisoned her and she was so sweet and innocent."That is something else! What is wrong with that person?
Amber, that's awful! Losing your pet is bad enough but losing it under such tragic circumstances is unimaginable. I hope that neighbour gets charged for such cruel and malicious actions.
We're going to get justice for her soon kassandra. Unfortunately we don't have enough proof for the cops to arrest him yet.
They won't cuz they listen to the lies the person spout about my family and I and are too scared to do anything cuz he's a violent and crazy person. Thanks. We are going to get a privacy fence built soon and will get some barking dogs after that.
Well done, Holly! I've had a really slow month due to headaches but I'm at the opticians tomorrow so hopefully I'll get some shiny new glasses that will sort it! X
