I can't remember who it was, so could be you, Melissa :DWhat are the guidelines for your version of the challenge?
Good Reads group Ladies and Literature has a two year challenge for reading a book that takes place in each of the 50 states and my plan is to read 25 per year. It's not elaborate, but I think this group will have a drawing for the people who have read all 50 in the time allotted.
Well, an end to the Kindle Saga of Sept 2015. I've ordered a new Kindle Paperwhite, which Goodreads have just installed on for UK users, so that should arrive sometime later this week!
Thank you to Bella who suggested getting the app on my phone. It allowed me to at least finish The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks while on holiday. Now to get started on University reading!

Yay Holly! That's good to hear! My poorE Reader is never charged, as I get destracted by my bound books and forget I did not power it down, just put it on standby lol

You're welcome. When we went on vacation this summer, the car was so stuffed that my husband said I couldn't bring my normal bag of books. So, I got a spare ereader- used from Ebay- and took it. I break at least one ereader a year, so having a spare means no disruption in reading. I think I normally buy a Nook Color for around $40-$50 bucks, including postage. It's also very useful so you can rotate the ereaders while charging.
Oh wow Bella! My old kindle lasted me a good 4 years, so I can't imagine one breaking every year!
That is super cheap though!
Just having a play around with my new one and it's great. A lot easier to use compared to my old Keyboard. Although the ads do annoy me a bit, but at least they're not while reading!

Well, I use it a lot(I sometimes have to charge 2 or 3 times a day) and I drop it a lot. But most of the damage seemed to be caused by the battery port. I used to read it and charge at the same time and the port would sometimes shift to the side or crack. I'm hoping that by using one and charging one, they'll last longer.
Well folks, we have moved from sunny Colorado to the Windy City, Chicago, IL or close by in Naperville, IL. This is a new chapter for the Coyle family and we close one after 6 wonderful years in Westminster. So now I have to break open my book box and start participating again.
Thanks, it's been exhausting! We have a week to go yet, they deliver our stuff tomorrow and then the unpacking begins! Yea us!
I'll be moving soon, too, but we're staying within the same climate zone, heh. Not looking forward to all that packing/unpacking!
Is this whole moving thing contagious or something? 3 of us at once!

Lots of moving back to school going on. I don't miss that at all. At least I can hire movers now, when in college it was me and mom and dad lugging boxes and futons up three flights of stairs.

4 of us! I moved to another city (just 150 km away from my hometown) three weeks ago! It was exhausting and I'm still stressed out, but also excited for the new adventure :-)

Definitely a mass migration! This is insane!
Sending luck to anyone who is about to move or has just moved and is settling in!
Now fully into my new house. Great being with the friends again!

Congrats and Best Wishes to all the nomads. Moving is so stressful but it's a fresh start in s new place and that's so exciting! Hooray for all of you!!!
I would like to add my good luck wishes to all the movers! it must be very stressful and tiring but equally exciting. A new chapter in your life :P
Mass migration, indeed! Good luck with all the packing and unpacking. It's hard work! Now I have to still find the book I was reading, its somewhere amongst suitcases...

I'm also going to be changing the banner over the next few days. Any ideas for what it should be? Or just go back to plain with a subheading?
Holly, adorable banner, and I'm glad you like your Paperwhite. I'm going to have to replace my Keyboard one of these days but am not looking forward to it. I haven't been around and haven't really been reading because I just got married !!! but wanted to say Hi Everyone and add my good wishes to the movers.
*Roll out the Barrel, we'll have a barrel of fun*(singing and doing a wedding polka dance!)Congratulations Brenda, many years of happiness to you two love birds!!!
Thank you all! We've been together a few years but believe me, I still feel very fortunate and happy-- more than I can say. Definitely going to try the polka tomorrow! How's everyone doing?
I'm about to sit down and read a book for pleasure for the first time in like 2 months! So ready for this!
I just feel like I lost all motivation to read outside of my classes, and I was going other things in my spare time.
Now I'm on a mission to hop back onto the reading train and go all out mad again! :P

Does anyone else get a sudden flood of wanderlust and have the urge to go travelling? I've spent most of the day looking at cheap ways to travel round Europe...

Who is it?
I quite fancy doing this as a challenge for next year!"
Hi Camille, I'm doing a two year states challenge with another group and hoping to finish by the end of next year. I don't know if I'm the one who mentioned this challenge, but glad to have a buddy do this with me. :D
