Kelly, your post made me think of the way one of the reviewers described Tiffany Reisz's The Original Sinners series "this ain't yo mama's thornbirds" LOL! BDB isn't your typical paranornal. I hear the writing is fantastic and the story is awesome!

I know I am in the minority when it comes to The Dark Duet but for those who haven't read the series, please do yourself a favor and stop after book 2. The Epilogue totally ruined the series [for me].

Dorota, I just think some things are better left to one's imagination. I knew that eventually (view spoiler)[ they would lead a 'normal' life but I didn't need to read about him playing video games and his inner thoughts on why guys shouldn't wear skinny jeans (although, I do agree with him! LOL!). All in all, I think the epilogue of Epilogue in Caleb's POV (which was the best part of the book) should have been added in the end of Seduced in the Dark and be done with it. (hide spoiler)]

Dorota, I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. Again, I know I am in the minority (and not with just that book but a lot of other ones too) but certain characters don't need redeeming in my eyes. I get why they do things they do and it's OK with me, does this make sense? I almost feel like when an author decides to 'redeem' a characater (not sure if you are familiar with Kirsten Ashley's books but I am referring to Hop's character), it takes away from that character somehow. I do agree with you about (view spoiler)[the 'holes' in Caleb's upbringing (I never really thought of it that way) and that's why I enjoy hearing other people's opinions on a book. And I actually didn't mind when he spoke directly to the readers. I found it amusing. As I said in my previous post, I would have settled for a short recap of events in his POV only. I didn't care much for childish behavior from Livvie (I know she was only acting her age but her maturity level in the first two books is what made me like her. (hide spoiler)]

Dorota, you have to read Motorcycle Man first (to see why everyone on GR but me thought he was an ass) then Fire Inside to see Kristen's attempt at making her readers happy. Hop only has a small part in Motorcycle Man but Fire Inside is his book so you have to read MM before FI to get the full story/picture. If you are into biker romance genre, these two books are great. They are like Disney version of biker romance - nothing really raunchy about them, just your typical feel good Kristen Ashley stories :)

Hi ladies. I have to agree with Irene about The Dark Duet. I wished I'd skipped the Epilogue. If you're looking for something to read then you should read my top read for the year...The Tied Man by Tabitha McGowan. You can trust me, I did recommend Fever ;-) Making Faces is next on my list.

No, Jahayra said the same thing about the Fever series.... that I should get commission. The Tied Man really was my favorite read this year and then I later hooked up with Tabitha on Facebook and she is simply awesome. I would still love the book if she was a total cunt but I wouldn't plug for it like I do. Speaking of....I'm also friends with another author whose book I loved this year and she is quite simply put: a Flat-Out bitch. Not mentioning any names ;-)
