I gave it a 5, which for me is highly unusual for a horror type book or movie, which is often my least favorite genre of entertainment. Something about the story just grabbed me and held me through the whole story. Really enjoyed it.
I taught this book. It is a true Gothic horror story from an author who was versed in theatrical techniques and design as a stage manager. I give it a 5 as well.
I'm giving it a 4. I really liked it. It was spooky and atmospheric and Stoker set things up so your imagination could amplify the horror. The somewhat overwritten "woe! woe!" verbiage, particularly in regard to fair Mina, could get a bit tiresome, but that's just a trait of Victorian lit.
