2nd book: this was labeled as sci-fi and YA. the cover has a guy floating above his bed. I remember it being in the point of view of a girl, she meets a guy that everyone in school thinks is awkward. He is awkward and somehow he's got powers that he shares with her. It's a book I read when I was small, so I don't quite remember it too well.

it's sci-fi/YA. Read it maybe 10 years ago, so I was a preteen.
