Feliks (dzerzhinsky) I don't know if a lone assassin was responsible for those deaths but author promos on Goodreads (like this one) are sure killing me. I thought there was a genuine discussion lurking under this thread-header.

Vanessa Eden Patton (vanessaeden) | 509 comments Yea, every time I choose a thread in hopes there will be some sort of discussion, it always seems to be an author promotion. I do indeed feel your pain.

Charles Ameringer (cda1) | 85 comments Feliks and Vanessa: I apologize for my post. I didn't intend to mislead you. True, it promoted my book, but given its unique nature of mixing fact and fiction I believed it posed an interesting subject for discussion, that is, was there a link to three high-profile murders that occured within months of each other during 1975? Anyway, I've removed it.

G.G. (ggatcheson) | 491 comments @Charles I don't know what the post was about but it seems promoting your book here is permitted by the moderators. That's what they say at least:

This folder is for readers and writers of mystery.

Welcome! Please post your books or leave a comment!

So don't apologies. You've done nothing wrong.

Charles Ameringer (cda1) | 85 comments Thank you G.G. In promoting my book, I've tried assiduously to adhere to the rules of the group, so I was taken aback at Feliks's objection to my post. With your kind assurance, I'm restoring my post, as follows:
Did a lone hired assassin do in Sam Giancana, Johnny Roselli, and Jimmy Hoffa? For a possible answer, check out the spy/thriller THE OLD SPOOK. It's fiction, but there may be some truth to it. Famed author Nik Morton thinks so; see his blog at http://nik-writealot.blogspot.com.es/... The Old Spook by Charles Ameringer

Eileen Goudge (authoreileengoudge) | 12 comments Okay, so I'm an old-school author but new to this (Goodreads discussion groups). Not even sure if I'm in the right place, after searching in vain for the Mystery folder I couldn't find as a live link in Goodreads Authors/Readers Discussion. The moderator, Vincent, says you can only promote your title(s) in the "Welcome" section of your genre folder. Am I in the right thread for that?
