The Uglies series is really good (By Scott Westerfeld). Also The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is amazing as well :)

I agree, solid list! Basically all the books I was going to list are on there so I'm glad I looked first.

I'm also going to recommend "The Darkest Minds" by Alexandra Bracken because the story is awesome and the characters are amazing!

Hunger Games is great. Birthmarked (but I didn't like the third/last book), and XVI is pretty good.

Uglies is a complete waste of time, if you ask me. At least, after the first one. It was alright.
