when I saw this pop up on my home screen I was like how did I miss this? then seen it was only posted 11 hrs ago. I haven't been watching the BR thread b/c I am buried in BR and challenges. Plus doing Nanowrimo but I really want to read this with you guys so I may try to fit it in.

I so agree that (view spoiler)[ that spencer's father is the definition of scum bag. I cant believe how he is willing to use his son as a pawn to illegally blackmail. Spencer's not completely innocent but he's the product of a monster. (hide spoiler)]
To me Spencer's dad is the epitome of greed - not Spencer. We saw it with what he tried to so to Sophie in Vain. He is just doing his best to get out from under his dads thumb. Sure he could denounce his dad and become poor- but that's not realistic. Most people don't just up and leave everything they know.

I am 50% (Chapter 23). I liked the book at first, I wasn't sure what setting the author could choose to rival book 1 but was interested when I found out her intentions. I feel the book is dragging a bit, (view spoiler)[ too much of the tension and romance and Spencer wanting but fighting himself internally. I know the book is supposed to be about Spencer but I really would have like to hear more about Bridget and her pregnancy. Even just more on his thoughts about it all. (hide spoiler)]

but at the same time - so selfish in other actions he does. But Greed....maybe that he just wants to make sure he has enough before he fully is cut off from his dad? He's obviously pretty used to the comfortable life....I don't blame him for being scared and worried to be cut off....

The dreams (view spoiler)[ I think the dreams didn't make much sense. First, Piper and Spencer didn't spend much time together to the point that he had to keep dreaming about her. (hide spoiler)]

The ending (view spoiler)[ As much as I LOVE happy ending, I wouldn't mind if Fisher "killed" Cricket. Yes, it would have been sad, but I still think it would have made a stronger ending somehow. (hide spoiler)]

Book 3 (view spoiler)[ I AM SUPER EXCITED that it's going to be about Ethan! I really liked him in this book. And the cover!?!? HOT!!!! (hide spoiler)]

In that one night she brought out every bad quality Spencer had and was trying to supress. She got him to gamble away the future he wanted, got him into a car accident and very nearly almost killed him with the balcony stunt, had meaningless sex with him- used him and left him as it were. So the dreams were like the 'bad side' of his cocscience trying to get him to just 'give up his soul' as it were and become like his father- a greedy man in a greedy world. (hide spoiler)]

All I was saying is that (view spoiler)[ it was not very realistic. I can't imagine anyone would keep on dreaming about someone who they have met and spent only a day together. Piper seemed to play such an important role in the book, even more than his father.

I agree in a way but (view spoiler)[ maybe that night was more traumatic for him than we think and thats why it stuck with him. You never know what will stick in our subconscious. Ive had so many dreams about people based on one time encounters so maybe because of that its more realistic for me. (hide spoiler)]
