Chapter 6 - (view spoiler)[ I had no idea that Harry had to stay a month more with the Dursley's before he could leave for Hogwarts and what a despicable way to treat him as they dropped him off at the train station! I really like the whole Weasley family, and I was surprised to find that so many characters was introduced to Harry before arriving at the school. As I have seen the movies I wait for certain things to happen, like Hermione casting Oculus Reparo on Harry's glasses but that doesn't seem to happen in the book, at least not yet. (hide spoiler)]

Book 1 Chapter 7 - (view spoiler)[ I am just loving this book more by the minute! The anxious feeling when waiting for the sorting hat to sort them. Even though I know from the movies where they go I still feel like what if they don't end up in Gryffindor???? And I am also very amused by Dumbeldore! Rowling had done a great job with the different characters and her writing really conveys their different traits. (hide spoiler)]

Book 1 Chapter 8 (view spoiler)[ First of all I did not like the part where Rowling wrote that everyone would like to kick on Mrs Norris! It might just be me but I cringe at any mention of hurting an animal. And I get so frustrated with Snape's hatred towards Harry. The chapter was filled with frustration and confusion! Book 1 Chapter 9 (view spoiler)[ I find that the word "hate" when used in this books is used in just the right places, where it is understandable. A lot of other writers I have encountered through reading use hate or love very liberally and it dulls the meaning of the words. Rowling is very skilled with these words and uses them sparsely. I think that the midnight duel was exciting, and so many things made more sense. I now see how they could have ended up in the forbidden corridor unlike in the movie where they could have just waited for the stairs to turn again and chosen not to go through the door. And I like that Hermione is starting to become mentioned and part of the events. But Harry and Ron are treating her very much crueler in the books and I actually haven't found her to be annoying enough to be worth the scowling! (hide spoiler)]

Book 1 Chapter 10 - (view spoiler)[ I never really understood why there was so much focus on professor snape being the one who let out the troll. But now I get it, it never came across until now that he was seen by Harry and Ron, heading for the third floor. And I also got a better understanding of why Hermione took the blame for them having to fight the troll of. (hide spoiler)]

Definitely and I am so happily surprised that there are so many more details that you do not get from the movie. It can be such a terrible bore to read a book after you have seen the movie when it is exactly the same. And a lot actually make more sense when you read the book!

Book 1 Chapter 11- Oh I do dislike sports but if Quidditch was for real I would be the biggest sports fan!!! I don't really have anything else to add to this particular chapter.

Book 1 Chapter 12 (view spoiler)[ this chapter just breaks my heart! My family means everything to me and just the thought of never have known them is more than I can bare. And the feeling Harry must have felt when he for the first time saw his parents in the Mirror of Erised (super clever Rowling, writing it backwards ;) ) is just simply more than I can comprehend. Is it even possible to feel any joy or does the grief take over?... (hide spoiler)]

Book 1 Ch 13 (view spoiler)[ It is becoming more and more clear as to why they suspect Snape but also where the misunderstandings lie. I really like these extra details that you get from the books. But I really do get frustrated with Snape's mean demeanour against Harry, it's a very childish way to behave for a grown up person. (hide spoiler)]

book 1 ch 15 - (view spoiler)[ this chapter was so exciting. I can just see the centaurs before me and Firenzez bright blue eyes, the sad view of the murdered unicorn and it's blood gleaming like liquid silver in the moon light! Malfoy continues to prove himself a butthead as expected and if I where Hagrid I'd have left him in the woods! (hide spoiler)]

Book 1 ch 16-17 And so I have come to the end of this lovely book! I really enjoyed the extra details in the last couple of chapters and I think it has been a great read!

It does sound very exciting. My only problem would be if it took days to find the snitch.

I remeber him being mentioned very breifly. Hagrid says that Sirius loaned him the bike to transport Harry to has aunt and uncle.

@Nikinnia haha true I would not want to watch a Quidditch game for days! And I agree she has a way with words and names, not everyone can make up names and magical words like Rowling does! I can see that a lot of the spells are a bit like latin or latinized normal words but it still sounds like "of course that's what it is called!!"
