November's Group Read - Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry

I started this book a few days ago, but it's kinda slow going for me. Partly because I'm writing a term paper in between and partly because I don't usually like contemporary romances that's don't really have a "hook" to pull me in.
I'm half way through, but I'm hoping it picks up. People seem to love it so much.

I mean, I like it well enough, it's just harder to force myself to sit down and read it. I read Shadow and Bone at the same time I started it and breezed through it because it kept pulling me back in. This one... Not so much.
And I'm glad it's not just me. The story is cool and I like the writing style, but... I dunno. Maybe I'm just apathetic because finals are coming up in a couple weeks and I'm rushing to get all my assignments in. Lol.

I'm no where near done with this book only like 100 pages in , but it's not too bad for me. I hope it doesn't get dull in the end.

I'm willing to give Pushing the Limits a try, but I'm kind of in that mourning period given the fact I just finished the book.
Anyways that book had me laughing and smiling like an idiot so many times. Anyways, I loved it I loved the author's style of writing. So ya, I'll give it a chance.
I just finished it! I'm glad I finally forced myself to sit down and devour the book. It took me a while to get into it, but around half way through it picked up and I loved the ending!
I'm eager to read Beth's story now. :)
I'm eager to read Beth's story now. :)

Am I the only one that's a little sad that Beth and Isaiah likely wont get together, seeing as the next two books are about them with different people? :(

Honestly, if Beth and Isaiah got together I think they will crash and burn.
The author did state that she saw Isaiah and Beth as a couple while writing Pushing the Limits.
You'll see more of Beth and Isaiah's friendship and I'm trying really hard not to spoil this. So all I'm going to say is that whoever Beth and Isaiah end up with its probably for the best.
Yeah, I figured that was what would prolly happen with them both together. But it still makes me a little sad. But at least I get two more books to read with - hopefully - happy endings.
Synopsis: No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with freaky scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.
But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.
Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.
