James Wilkinson | 52 comments Just an idea, but sometimes I amuse myself with what actor or actress might play a particular character in a movie adaptation of a book, should that movie appear, or even if a remake should appear. Actors or actresses are strictly limited to the living. So first offer an actor or actress, and then suggest a character for someone else to cast.

Holden Caulfield?

Sharon Ellis | 176 comments I want James Wilkinson - the quiet, unassuming introverted Englishman - to play the part of "Theodore Hopeful" who is the quiet, introverted, uasuming leading character in the Novel I have just begun to write after meeting James Wilkinson and asking him to play the part once the movie is made of the Triumphant Book Success, and I want James Wilkinson to wear the exact same outfit for his wardrobe as he is wearing in his photo on Good Reads, and to wear this same outfit and have the exact same facial expression, even to the combing of his black hair style, all to be exactly the same in the filming of the first scene taking place in the Arboretum of his staunch father's wealthy home in Wiltshire when Theodore Hopeful, played by James Wilkinson, first spots the Dutchess Heraldine Doorpost-Quite-Sullen-Of-York across the room but looks slightly downward in contemplative thoughtful questioning of his chances of ever speaking to her in person, before he grows another year older.
Okay James?
Contact Casting Director Sharon Ellis who can be found riding her horse somewhere in Texas gathering up a herd of Longhorn Steers before the Tordano strikes, as the Sirens are already sounding their alarming bells.

Sharon.

James Wilkinson | 52 comments Well. I'm not unassuming anymore.

James Wilkinson | 52 comments Come on guys, work with me here. I would like Jamie Bell to play Holden Caulfield should the opportunity ever arise (which I doubt, since Salinger remains resolute).

What about Jay Gatsby from the Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald?

Sharon, again with the book plugs. That wasnt the point of the question James posed. This is supposed to be a game, follow his lead....

I dont know why it took me a month to see this one (it got buried kinda fast) but I think this could be a great conversation game.....

So, any takers on the Great Gatsby? Once you pick your actor for this role, you get to ask us to pick for your character.....

message 6: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 212 comments since robert redford is too old to be gatsby (and i believe hes already been him) either brad pitt or chance crawford.

who would you pick for jane eyre?

message 7: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (seolmara) | 28 comments I haven't read Jane Eyre (yet) so no picks for it but I was thinking Chace Crawford for Gatsby, too.

message 8: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 212 comments Great minds think alike Jackie!

message 9: by Marianna (new)

Marianna I would enjoy Winona Ryder as Jane Eyre. Small, unassuming, not like her more outrageous characters. She could pull it off.

How about for Captain Wentworth from Persuasion?

Usako (bbmeltdown) | 326 comments Which Persuasion version, Marianna?

St[♥]r Pr!nc:$$ N[♥]wsheen pictures, pictures, pictures ||| ♥ Zin Uru ♥ |||| ok I'm agog with curiosity to know who could play the real Shakespeare, likeness to likeness? So Joseph Fiennnes can't play again no matter how much cologne he uses for the casting..hehe...and Laurence Olivier even if he dies quoting Shakespeare (I think the great man is dead already)

message 12: by El (last edited Feb 17, 2010 07:16PM) (new)

El (audinosbiitch) I don't really think anybody could play Shakespeare. He's a bit to complicated.

message 13: by Danna (new)

Danna Shakespeare? I think Colin Firth would be good in that role.

Who should play - Grace from Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater ?

message 14: by MissJessie (new)

MissJessie | 1286 comments Sandra Bullock. She's good at quirky roles.

Who should play Morgan in the "Sweep" series by Cate Tiernan?
