Here I am! I've finally found time to write my reviews. I've been racing to finish reading figuring I could post the reviews at one time. So, here's my review AL and my Kinked review is coming next. :DGo, team, go!

After what happened to Elena the last time she attended an immortal ball, it's no surprise she's not thrilled about attending another. But, before she has much time to worry about it, "Angels are falling from the sky in New York, struck down by a vicious, unknown force. Vampires are dying impossibly of disease." These tragic events weaken the Tower's defenses at a time when they can ill afford it. Elena and Raphael race to find the cause, save their people and protect their city.
"Eternity would mean nothing without you. For no power on this earth would I trade my Elena."For me, this was one of the best books in the series so far. Fans of the series will love seeing how Elena and Raphael not only continue to change, but grow as a couple and individuals. Each immensely strong and powerful in their own right, they are also realizing their true strength comes when they face things together. She reminds him of his humanity and he helps her navigate the immortal world.
In addition to learning more about about the couple, we are given further insight into Illium's past and punishment as well as seeing Aodhan creep out of his shell. I'm as frighteningly fascinated with Naasir as Elena. I am chomping at the bit for book #7. 2014 seems so very far away.
Series: Elder Races #6

They were not just driving each other insane. Collectively they were driving everyone else insane too. Echoes of their feud began to ripple through the other sentinels. At each others throats since the Games, Dragos has had enough of Aryal and Quentin. What's a dragon to do? Both are strong sentinels and he doesn't want to lose either, so he "sends them on a reconnaissance mission to the Elven land of Numenlaur". While gone, they must either make peace with each other or risk losing their positions.
Sadly, Kinked had a slow start for me. I'd read more than half of the book before I was thoroughly interested in the events happening in Numenlaur. However, familiar with Aryal's love for conflict and fierce loyalty to those she loves, the tension between her and Quentin made sense - as did their attraction to each other. In the end, I grew to like both more than I had when I started the book and felt they were a good match and complimented each other well.
My favorite line was in the beginning of the book when Aryal's heart takes a hit as she gets her first look at Pia's baby. Noticing Aryal's reaction, Pia whispers to Eva, "Behold the Power of the peanut. His body mass may be small, but his influence is mighty." I'm anxious to learn more about Liam, the powerful little Prince, in Dragos Takes a Holiday due out later this month.
I can't update my list or link via phone so if one of you wonderful ladies could I would love you long time. This family reunion is a killer.

Review: Once upon a time there was a man who decided we needed fairy tales to be more like the use to be, the way they were originally written. Dark and well grim.
This man is Adam Gidwitz.
A Tale of Dark Grimm takes us on the travels of Hansel and Gretel as they travel through out many different tales in the search for parents to love them. Grown ups who are actually good. But the thing is no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. Something that both children learn as they experience death and much danger. We are given a story that is gruesome, dark, but lighthearted too. Thanks to the Mr. Gidwitz lovely little story interruptions to check on us readers, thank you oh so much for those, they brought a smile to my face each and every time.
I sat down to read this book and a few hours later I was done, I didn't take a break at all, well other then to grab and snack and run to the bathroom. You know as I was reading the first thing that popped into my head was, 'you know who this author is reminding me of?' C.S. Lewis and the Chronicles of Narnia. Yep and that's big because well it's Narnia.
Wonderful story for children of all ages, and I'm talking wee little ones to us big grown ups who still believe in the magic of fairy-tales.
New shelves are up and they're both 'personal' so no link - we can pick anything (200+ pgs) that fits. - romance genre (PNR, CR, ER, HR, etc) and - new2you series (a first-in-series book)
I'm thinking I'll be reading IF ONLY for romance genre and SOMETHING SECRET THIS WAY COMES for new2you. I'll let ya know if I change either.
Happy reading, Nameless Ones. :)
ROMANCE: Rumor Has It I love Jill Shalvis and this just came out this week.NEW2YOU: Angels' Blood I ordered the first three books of this series after reading the reviews from you guys. I look forward to reading it!

If there's somethin' strange in your neighborhood
Who ya gonna call (ghostbusters)
If it's somethin' weird an it won't look good
Who ya gonna call (ghostbusters)
I mean M.J Halliday. That's right she's your resident psychic medium and ghostbuster.
Like I said M.J Halliday is a ghostbuster/medium and it seems that where ever she goes there is some poor soul still wandering and can't cross over to the other side. At one point she calls her self the local payphone and everyone wants to make a call at the same time.
Her newest client is a very handsome doctor, Dr. Steven Sable. He has hired her to help discover what was really the cause of his grandfathers death. The authorities have labeled it a suicide but Dr.Sable believes otherwise. So together with her partner Gilley and pet bird Doc, they all jump headlong into a case that involves playing detective and risking their own lives as they try to uncover the truth.
What's a Ghoul to Do? was a very enjoyable read. We have a little bit of romance, and lot of humor, and some suspense with a great twist. I was kept me on my toes through out the whole book I really hadn't seen it coming. And for a cozy mystery it had me looking over my shoulder when reading it at night, because I kept on expecting to see a ghost hanging out in my living room.
Looking forward to taking on the next client.
Cheryl, glad to hear you're all home, and hoping they find a reason, and that it doesn't happen again. Take care!
Finished my free space book, and now to work on this week's shelves. My freebies seem to have disappeared from my phone app, so am revising! EEK! Where could they have gone...(still on the other PC, I think, but no time to track them down). Will post changes later!
I hope everything is ok Cheryl. Being sick and in pain is no fun at all. At least your home and hopefully they will figure it out. I will keep her in my prayers too.
CONGRATULATIONS, The Nameless Ones!We now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'kick-ass heroine' and 'dragons'.

Review
I tried really hard to keep the spoilers out. I loved the first book but just didn’t have the time to finish the series yet. Mac is human well as human as you can be and still be drawn into the fae world. She’s rare a sidhe-seer one of the few who can see the fae for who they really are not human. In the first book she learned about her gift, also that her sister was murdered and refused to leave till she got justice for her sister.
Mac is still trying to find her sister’s journal hoping it will be the key to finding the Sinsar Dubh a magic book that will change everything. Mac still seems to be drawn to trouble but she has two men willing to jump in and save her life. The police are suspecting her of killing the guy who attempted to kill her wanting her to leave town. So as an excuse to stay in Dublin she will work for Barrons after all Fiona isn’t working at the bookshop after she almost got Mac killed by shades.
As if that’s not enough to worry about Mac is torn between too very different powerful men who may not be human. Mac has enough on her hands with her sisters case adding a few irresistible men to the mix is just not what she’s looking for. As she and Barrons continue to look for the Sinsar Dubh Mac finds herself at the hands of a vampire fae and running into the Lord Master. Will Barrons be able to save her this time? Will she find her sisters journal? Will they find the Sinsar Dubh?
I love Mac she stole my heart in the first one and just keeps getting better. I’m still on the fence with the guys but what can I say Fae Prince or something else tough choices. I prefer Barrons but we will have to see how that works out as the series progress. Best way to describe Mac is she’s like a bottle of wine keeps getting better with age.
Bloodfever is another fantastic installment in the Fever series. In this one we get a little taste of Dani who has a spin off series that I want to read. Mac is one of those characters that grows which I really like she’s already easy to connect with. The book is action packed, filled with Fae, creatures lurking in the dark, sexy men, suspense, and one kick ass heroine. I was captivated right from the start it’s hard to put down I was so drawn into Mac’s life. The concept is unique and maybe it’s the world Mac lives in but I love everything about the book. The author has done a brilliant job weaving an intricate story, and her writing style flows smoothly. I’m an addict when it comes to the Fae and so far the fever series has been my favorite. It does have its moments so I suggest mature adults but defiantly a must read.
Hope she's pain-free soon, Cheryl!Thanks, Sandra!
Good reviews, ladies! Do you have the rest of that series on-hand, Mandy? She's got some serious cliff-hangers!
I'll probably finish IF ONLY tonight and will get my reviews up soon after.
Happy Hump Day, Nameless One-ders! :D

Series: Secret McQueen #1
Shelf: New2You Series
Read: 11 Nov
Rating: 3.5 stars
Review:
Secret McQueen's name is almost legendary among vampires. She's ½ vampire, ½ werewolf bounty hunter who "... takes out rogue vampires at the request of the vampire council." As far as she knows, she's the only ½ vamp, ½ were hybrid and she guards the truth about her heritage - telling only a handful of people. But, she feels it's only a matter of time before her secret is out. Although she was born this way, she doesn't fully embrace her werewolf side. In fact, she's never shifted as an adult.
(view spoiler)
So, it's a surprise to her when her werewolf half is instantly attracted to a handsome stranger. Animal magnetism, it appears, is extremely difficult for her to control. She quickly learns just who this sexy stranger is and what this attraction means. In the process, she also learns a great deal more about her family history and another reason why her name is well-known.
In the six years she's been a bounty hunter, "... the closest anyone had ever come to truly killing [her] was Alexandre Peyton, and he had promised [her] that next time [they] met he wouldn't fail." When she notices his "mark" while rescuing a human, she knows their meeting will come sooner rather than later.
Last year, I read Secret's prequel, The Secret Guide to Dating Monsters. I liked it and was looking forward to more of the story. I enjoyed Something Secret This Way Comes and the opportunity to get to know Secret, Holden, Sig, Calliope (and others) better. I'm not a big fan of love triangles and this one has that in spades. Nevertheless, the ending of this one (view spoiler) was such that I will definitely continue on with the series.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Series: Masters of the Shadowlands #8
Shelf: Romance Genre (ER)
Read: 14 Nov
Rating: 4.5 stars
Review:
"'If onlys' will drive you mad."
If Only tells the story of sassy sub Sally and Co-Doms Galen and Vance, both FBI agents and new Shadowland Masters.
For months, they'd watched the little sprite. Never silent, never modest. She didn't submit gracefully. Both he and Vance had wanted to take her on. Nothing serious - they didn't do serious - but just for the challenge. The first thing they noticed when Sally returned to the club after a month-long absence was that her bubbling enthusiasm and perkiness were gone - "... a subdued Sally was like a bird with a damaged wing."
The hunt for the remaining members of the Harvest Association continues. Sally, in school to become a computer forensics specialist, seizes an opportunity to become a silent hero in the hunt. She knows that "unhappy Doms weren't good for a submissive's health", so she tries to avoid the two Feds in an attempt to keep her actions stealthy.
That all changes when she's caught doing the one thing a Shadowkitten should never do - fake it. Z decides her punishment is to be handled by none other than the Co-Doms.
I loved these three together! It was great getting a deeper look at both Galen and Vance, who have been seen throughout the previous books. Sally and the Feds each have their own qualities that, when brought together, help mend the wounds of the others.
There was one irritant for me. While "imp", by definition, fits Sally's sneaky, mischievous personality perfectly, I didn't care for the endearment. Other than that, If Only is another fantastic addition to the Masters of Shadowlands series. And, I was thrilled to discover Cherise will be doing writing another MotS book! :D
I’ll admit it–I got my arm twisted and I’ll be doing another Masters of the Shadowlands. I’m going to see what happens when Rainie takes on Master Jake. That should come out in late summer, around August.

Review: Right Now takes place just shortly after A Moment ends. Ryan and Lili are still around and we get see more of their happily ever after but this story, is the story of Alex.
Alex, can get any girl he wants. And he's had too many to count. But it's getting old, boring and well it's not really working for him anymore. His longest relationship lasting a week. Using sex as away to cope, with his issues. He doesn't want to live like this.
After deciding to listen to his fortune cookie, "Be opposite" he takes his first step in that direction and into Zoe Stone's world.
Zoe, (is probably one of the coolest characters I've read in awhile by the way), works at a tattoo parlor. Dubbed the ice queen by her best friend Jamie she doesn't really date much, not that she doesn't like to she just isn't boy crazy and her hearts really only belonged to one guy ever and he's never even knew she existed, Alexander Donovan.
Imagine her surprise when their worlds collide.
I really enjoyed this book, in fact I liked it better then the first book. Zoe is a great and totally cool character, I love pinups, tattoos, body mods, rockabilly, the 50s that whole scene. So I was really excited to read a character like her. Alex is broken with issues that he still is trying to come to terms with, he's in a dark place trying to escape going back there anyway he can and usually it's through sex. I can relate to this pairing it's freaky how much I can. I think that's part of the reason why I liked this book so much more.
It's dark, and painful and you just want to scream when they scream and hold them in your arms when they are breaking down. I really hope we get a book 3. Will definitely be keeping my eyes open for it.

I adore Jill Shalvis books! I think I start each review by saying that I want to move to Lucky Harbor. This book is the 4th in the Animal Magnetism series set in Sunshine Idaho. I'm not much for snow so I guess these guys would need to come to me!
Kate is a local teacher who takes care of everyone. This includes her father, teenage sister, young brother and even her ex boyfriend/boss. Griffin is the injured war hero she has lusted after since her teens. Sparks fly when he comes home for his sister Holly's wedding. Kate makes a big time play for him and he continues to try to be the strong one and keep them apart.
I love the often flawed characters that Shalvis writes about. She makes everyone seem like your next door neighbor. I really enjoyed catching up with previous couples and look forward to more matchmaking. Lovely read!

I must admit that I started reading this book and put in down after about 100 pages. Perhaps it was the setting I was reading in. I did go back and start it again after reading my free space book.
Elena is a vampire hunter hired by the archangel Raphael to hunt a rogue archangel. Unable to decline the job, Elena becomes tangled in Raphael's world. The story is rather dark and I think that may be why I couldn't leap right into it. I liked Elena's spunk but often found Raphael to be too domineering and just a little off.
I have the next two books in the series and do plan to read them perhaps they will grab my attention a little better and make me love them.

Twelve years have passed since we last caught up with Atticus, Granuaile and Oberon. Granuaile has completed her training and is ready to be bound to the earth. Unfortunately, Loki has been freed, Bacchus is still trying to kill Atticus and dark elves want in on the sport as well.
Atticus is one if my all time favorite Heroes. His character is so well thought out and written that it is a joy to read. I love, love, love Oberon! Not since the demon Jim in a Newfie body has a dog captured my heart like Oberon. The ongoing conversations between he and Atticus mean as much to me as the extensive research necessary to explain the various mythologies in this series. I seem to devour these books when I sit down to read. Always an absolute pleasure!

Cheryl, Raphael softens regarding Elena, over the next several books. I guess he starts out really hard and to show his growth, becomes ever more human. And I agree, I love Oberon & the ever elusive sausage. KH does an amazing job with this series.

Another switcheroo!
When I started the Cassandra Palmer series, I had quite a few books to read, and a short wait for #5. That had a cliffhanger ending that had me dying to read the next one (this one). In the interval, I also caught up on Dorina Basarab (which I also love, perhaps more than Cassie!)
It took me awhile to remember some things, but even with some gaps, it was a great, roller coaster story. Cassie always seems to get into incredible predicaments, but she also gets out in one piece, more or less.
Writing much about it would be way too many spoilers, so will keep it short and general (and my opinions, not much about the storyline!) Mircea is a favorite, and he was basically absent this book, so that was a minus. Liked seeing Pritkin, but don't like triangley relationships, so feeling a bit queasy about the stronger focus here (and like Mircea...a lot...). Liked descriptions of Rositer's city, liked "meeting" Cassie's mom. Looking forward to more action filled stories.
Now, off to check which series is up for the next pre-order (Should be Dory, but gotta check on the status of both).

Thoughts:
One of my "goals" for BSB R8 is "decluttering" my shelves (also working on my house, both are a long, ongoing process!) So, this is one of "those" books. I picked it up as a Kindle freebie 'cause it sounded interesting, and just hadn't gotten around to opening it up.
I was pleasantly surprised. Vega is a bounty hunter, and very motivated to be the best...shadows of her father's lack of approval flitting through her mind. This time, she's after a very big fish, and the chase is thrilling, exciting and very well done. Lots of twists and turns, but all very well done (no cheats, and I didn't feel like the author was playing on our ignorance).
The "fish" is Grayson Walker, and they have an inexplicable attraction, which both do their best to resist. This is a suspense novel, but also a romance, and nicely done for both.
I liked the characters, and this book has the potential to grow into a series, though it's doubtful that will happen considering it was written about 4 years ago. Nary a vampire or a paranormal anything in it, but the very strong heroine was great. Will keep an eye out for more of her books.
