Finished Blood of Ambrose and am moving on to This Crooked Way, also by James Enge. Will try to write reviews when I get home and am no longer typing on a laptop.
I finished Rachel Bach's Fortune's Pawn, which is sampled at the end of Ancillary Justice. But it's more like urban fantasy/paranormal romance in science fiction clothing. It's got action too. My review.
I'm a third into The Long Earth. I've seen that some people don't care much for it, but I'm liking it so far.
Just finished Fire Watch, a terrific collection of early Connie Willis stories, and Zone One, a fine zombie novel.Working through a couple of M. John Harrison books, his classic Centauri Device and the big Viriconium collection.
Hoping to get to Fangland.
Finished Ancillary Justice and Furies of Calderon. Moving on to Beyond Dinocalypse because I liked the first one so much, and feel like I need to read something I should hopefully really like.Shouldn't we be hearing what the next club pick is soon?
Just finished Magic Slays which whilst good is getting a little to romanticy at times. Now onto the last w/ Magic Rises. Skipping the spin-off Gunmetal Magic for now. As for Ancillary Justice, sigh, this might be a Lem for me. Just not doing it for me.

Ben wrote: I loved this oneI'm a bit over a quarter of the way in, really enjoying it thus far. I like how the author takes us underneath the hood and inside the heads of the various characters without shrinking from what is to be found there.
And even when he doesn't, actions - sometimes subtle, sometimes not - reveal so very much about who they are, and why they do what they do.
Busy weekend for me. I finished listening to Hounded (My Review).
I also listened to all of Fuzzy Nation (My Review).
And if that weren't enough I finished reading The Dragon Keeper (My Review).

Finished Three Parts Dead (loved it; very original ideas), and trying to get Shadow and Claw, an omnibus of the first two books of Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun, back to the library before I go on vacation.

I am currently reading Midst Toil and Tribulation by David Weber. This will complete my personal reading challenge of catching up with at least one series by the end of the year.Listening to Ghost in the Wires: My Adventures as the World's Most Wanted Hacker on audible and breezing through A is for Alibi as my phone eBook read.
Finished Robin Hobb's The Dragon Keeper on AudibleMy review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Starting on Audible:The Crown Conspiracy also on Audible
Read both of the Riyria Chronicles books: The Crown Tower and The Rose and the Thorn by Michael J Sullivan.
I FINALLY got my Ancillary Justice this week so I'm very behind on that one. This month besides the AJ, I read Ender's Game, Divergent, Orange is the New black My year in women's prison, Beautiful Chaos, The Elite, The Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy and Eleanor Park. As always the reviews are on my blog: A Girl that Likes Books, except for the last two, but they should be up next week.
Finished The Crown Conspiracy The Riyria Revelations 1My review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Starting The Garden of Stones on Audible
I just finished (finally) listening to The Mongoliad: Book Three. I haven't written my review yet, but the short version is: needed an editor.I've got some quicker reads I want to knock out, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, plus I have Herland to listen to.
I'm also still reading An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth: What Going to Space Taught Me About Ingenuity, Determination, and Being Prepared for Anything at night, and I guess I'll start up the December pick soon. And Steelheart is still waiting for me...
Finished listening to Hexed. It was OK. (My Review)
I'm now a few hours into The Thousand Names that I'm doing with my side reads group.
Enjoying it so far, though it's more flintlock than fantasy at this point of book, which may turn some folks off of it.

I've really enjoyed all the Batman stuff by Snyder. Have you tried Batman: The Black Mirror his run on Detective? Pretty dark but very good.
