Rules for Authors

I want to give other authors the chance to show their books to the members in this group, so I'm creating this folder for that purpose.

If you're an author and you'd like to giveaway a free copy of your book (especially if cannot do it on the Goodreads giveaway site because of your publication date), please follow these rules:

1) The author/publisher is responsible for setting the dates and conditions of the giveaway. The author/publisher must select the winner(s) and supply the indicated number of books on the date the giveaway ends. (In other words, the moderator of the Constellation Chronicles (CC) group is not responsible for setting the giveaway dates and conditions, selecting the winner(s), or mailing the books.)
2) Authors/publishers agree not to use the winner's address other than to mail the book.
3) The book must be a hard copy, not an ebook.
4) The moderator of the CC group reserves the right to delete any giveaway postings that appear inappropriate for the group.
5) All authors/publishers must first contact the CC moderator via Goodreads email and receive approval before posting a giveaway on the CC group.
6) All aforementioned giveaways, unless notified otherwise by the CC moderator, will appear under the folder "Giveaways by Other Authors."

Okay... Now that we have the rules, are there any interested authors?

Hi Vincent,
I just joined CC and would love to give away a copy of my new book, Your Personal Renaissance as well. I will accept entries until July 14 and then hold a drawing for the winning entry. Applicants will need to send me their mailing addresses with their applications. I promise to respect their privacy.

Looks good, Diane! That's a great first example of how authors can create their own giveaways!

To make sure all the giveaways are seen by the members, I think it's wise to give each book a place within the "Giveaways by Other Authors" folder. (This will make it easier to see comments and/or participants for the specific giveaway.)

I'll create yours, Diane. Here is the name: "Your Personal Renaissance - July 14th"

Hi, Vincent
I would like to give away 3 autographed copies of my book Hot Issues, Cool Choices: Facing Bullies, Peer Pressure, Popularity, and Put-Downs (for ages 10 and up) as part of your "Giveaways by Other Authors" program. The book has received three book awards and is a great resource for both the home and the classroom. I'll accept entries through August 31, 2009 and then have a drawing for the three winners. I'll autograph each of the three copies to the respective winners and mail the books out the next day. I'll need the mailing addresses for the entries, but I'll definitely respect their privacy.
