LP (lp27) | 827 comments Poor J.E.A Jolliffe!

He is incorrectly listed as Alan Jolliffe for The Constitutional History of Medieval England (when my copy of the book clearly shows J.E.A. Jolliffe) and as

John Jolliffe for Angevin Kingship

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8...

Although Amazon got it wrong once, too, by listing a book of his as J.E. Jolliffe, the correct way to write the author's name, which will also avoid all confusion with other authors, is

J.E.A. Jolliffe.

Once this is corrected, I will go ahead and add a couple of book titles of his not currently listed at Goodreads. :)

Just found another one of his under John Jolliffe:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

That should be the last of it (once it is corrected).

Abcdarian | 26579 comments There appear to be two Jolliffe authors, J.E.A. and John, possibly even more than one John. The Froissart's Chronicles translation is listed as John Jolliffe on the cover illustration, so I am hesitant to change it.

Confusingly, the Library of Congress lists one of their copies as J.E.A. Jolliffe, but has the copyright after his death. Another is listed as John Jolliffe.

LP (lp27) | 827 comments Great sleuthing on your part, Abcdarian, and I appreciate your caution. Yes, if it's listed that way on the cover, it seems we should leave well enough alone. At least we have correctly listed the three works which earned Jolliffe a reputation as an outstanding medievalist.

Thanks for looking into this.
