Mine:Bittersweet.
I say bittersweet because my parents aren't healthy enough to come to my house, and not healthy enough to have guests at theirs.

Stressful!My mother, the pickiest, naggiest woman on the planet, is having surgery the week before Thanksgiving. Therefore I get to make this year's turkey "under her direct supervision". I've never made a turkey before, but it wouldn't matter if I'd made hundreds. She would still sit there and watch everything I do, then complain that I'm doing it wrong (she is the only person who knows anything about anything). I can't wait!! lol
Tough, we have a son with autism so any holiday that has crowds is difficult.

My mother in law taught me how to make turkey and stuffing from scratch. My mom thinks Stove Top stuffing is manna from heaven, and I can't stand the stuff! So I understand stressful.
"Beep" up.I work retail so it's a busy time for us. So I hear you all because their all my words but with no time. I do try to do it all so I can enjoy some of it but mostly it's for the family and loved ones.

Absolutely don't mind :) We leave when things get to bad LOL .... He is 8 and has autism + severe apraxia. So he has very limited speech, but is the happiest funniest kid, by looking at him you wouldn't even know he has a disability, but being around people who don't understand even though they are family, still is rough .... We need to stay on top of him all the time its not like we can just let him play with the other kids, mostly because he has no interest, but we also need to make sure he doesn't escape out the back door.
Holidays are just not the same for us ... Christmas is my absolute fav holiday and I think this is the first year he will probally come out here KNOWING santa has come. He is 8 .... Halloween is tough we do a few houses and that is it the attention and interest just isn't there, plus he doesnt eat candy lol

My daughter worked Walmart during Christmas. Nightmare with a capital N.

But I've never been in your situation so I don't know. You sound like a great mom who takes a lot of care of her son.
I suppose Bittersweet is a good word for me, too.We recently had a death in the family, and it hasn't been a good year in general, but I've already done a lot of the organising for Christmas, because I'm determined for it to be good. :)
I'm sorry for your loss, Sonya. :( This will be our first holidays without my son, but he's okay. He's in Uganda serving a mission for our church, so we'll miss him, but he's doing well.I'll send up a prayer for you and your family, for peace and comfort.

I do a lot of the cooking. But we go to my Aunt's house for both Christmas and Thanksgiving. It's more the gift buying that gets stressful. My husband comes from a big family and they don't draw names for the kids. So I end up having to buy for like 16 people on his side alone. Which can be stressful on a budget. But in the end I love doing it because seeing someone enjoy something that you got them is priceless. :)
WonderingWondering where I'm going to come up with the Christmas money. Uncle Sam just hit us hard (we did a late filing).
