Is Hell Bent #1 in a new series or does it really sort of continue characters from a previous series?
Yes and yes. It's a new series, but according to some comments on her blog, it looks like it's a spin-off focusing on Shame Flynn and Terric Conley seen in her Allie Beckstrom series. No word on whether or not it's necessary/recommended to read all of AB before starting the new one. Hope that helps.
Shame & Terric, wonderful! I will say from the book blurb, it will probably contain all kinds of spoilers for the last book in the Allie Beckstrom series.
Yeah, I figured. I'll probably hold out on that one until I've read Allie.
I still have the last book in the series to read, so I kind of mini-spoiled myself by reading that blurb. Not badly, just a little.
That stinks! Hate when that happens. :/ Do you like the Allie series?
I really do. It's taken me a while to get through it, just because there are a lot of series I'm in the middle of, but I love the concept behind the magical system. Every magic has a price, aches & pains, memory loss (Allie's particular weakness), from minor up to and including death. The characters are great and I'm definitely going to move on to Shame & Terric's.

I've got quite a few of those but also haven't started it. Always telling myself to finish what I've already got started. GTK Daffodil that you really like it ;)
