Meinolf (mevo1961) | 7 comments I have a problem with the page of german author Andreas Föhr. There were two pages for this author and I combined them, keeping only the one that was better maintained.
However there is a problem now: When I type 'Andreas Föhr' into the search field, his page is not found.
I can only find him by searching for one of his books (e.g. Karwoche) and then clicking on the authors name. The page that opens has the following URL: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
As you may notice, instead of the german umlaut 'ö' there is an underscore in the link. Apparently, the umlaut causes a problem here, but I don't know how to fix that. I tried to edit the page and type the name again with the umlaut, but that didn't work.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Meinholf, I think that that's just caching in the search. When I search on Andreas Föhr I get 3 books now.

The URL for an author always uses underscores for accented letters, but that doesn't affect anything. In fact, nothing after the numbers and the dot in the author profile matters at all -- the name is only there to look nicer. This URL goes to the same author profile: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/5501697.this_does_not_matter.

Meinolf (mevo1961) | 7 comments Thanks Cait, you are right. After deleting the cache in my Firefox I now can find Andreas Föhr. However, there are still only 3 of his 5 books listed in the search results. But when I click on the author name a page is shown containing all 5 books.

Meinolf (mevo1961) | 7 comments OK, the problem seems to be solved now. I opened the edit window of one of the 3 books that were listed by the search, then copied the author name to the remaining 2 books. Although there was no visible difference in the spelling, now the search shows all 5 books.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Saving a book record bumps it up in priority for a search refresh. There probably wasn't a difference in the names, but saving the same name again on the record reindexed the books.
