Annie Most influential? How about the Big Bad Wolf - notorious star of cautionary tales since the beginning of time? Probably responsible for introducing millions of kids to the idea that the world isn't always a nice, safe place. I'd be interested to know if other cultures have a similar character in their folklore.

As long as it is clear we are talking about "fictional" characters, I agree. Never has so much evil....and good...been done under one fictional person's name.

Isabel Storey Fictionalised : the Gibreth family in "Cheaper by the Dozen." Sixty years after reading I find myself still using time saving measures. Not sure what I am saving the time for, unless allowed to be late for my own funeral.
