Let's talk about Caleb.
I don't think Tris should have sacrificed herself after all she went through and did, but I also don't hate Caleb. He didn't die and I'm glad because he didn't really deserve it either. Tris wasn't going to let him die, of course. Caleb was the last member of her family left alive.
But it should have been someone else who sacrificed themselves at the end. Someone who could also resist the death serum...which brings me to the point, why was Tris such a special Divergent? Why could she resist the death serum? Also, how do you feel about Caleb as a whole? He doesn't deserve to be alive as much as Tris does, but he wasn't pure evil either. At least that's what I think.

I was never a big fan of Tris, so I wasn't that sad when she died, but I really thought Caleb was going to die. I'm glad he didn't but it was a surprise. As for Caleb as a whole, I feel bad for him. He really thought he was doing something good and sure he wasn't right in letting Tris go to her execution, but I don't know... It's really hard to explain. Now for the rest of his life he will be viewed as a coward and he will feel like one too, even though it was Tris' decision.

Tris dying was horrible. She was my favorite. Tris didn't want Calab to sacrifice his life for the wrong reasons. He wasn't doing it to show he cared, he was only going to do it in order to settle a debt. I was hoping he would learn his lesson, but he never did. I think it would have been better if Calab finally figured out the bigger picture and learned how to be selfless in time to stop Tris from taking his place.

Tris resisting the death serum is a little hard to beleive, but I guess there is a possibility that the ability to resist on serum means you can resist them all.

I am assuming that Calab made a life for himself away from all the main characters of the book. Why would he keep in touch with people that never liked him? Because of that I think he lived as happily as he could without a family ever after.

I think Caleb its the most selfish character at the book. I don't like him at all, and I wish he could die of guilt. He should run after her and take her place.

Look. If anyone would like to reply and argue about this I'm up for a debate. Caleb believed what he was doing was for the greater good. Yes this involved killing multiple people and whatnot BUT he was snapped out of it by almost killing Tris ( and actually aided trying to kill her). After he realized his mistakes he was ridden with guilt. With everyone hating him he felt the only true redemption is death. I beleivce that he should have died. Because now he is just sad, guilty and NOW greif ridden due to his sisters death.

Para mí Caleb debió morir.

Caleb to me is a coward, he shouldn't have let Tris ake his place.

*take

i think that Caleb just didn't know himself and know what he should be and that's what got him into trouble. i think that a lot of what we saw in the series was issues from euridite - the ones who sought information and learned what they could but they lacked a lot to really process it, and that's what Caleb's downfall was. he forgot that he was brought up to be selfless - yes, but that he's emotional and feels things and should have applied that instead of letting himself get stepped on.

i also don't think that he really knew enough or was conniving enough to become jeannine's right hand - i think that it was manipulation through and through and that's just another fault of his.....

i really wish that tris didn't feel like she had to sacrifice herself for him - i get why she did it, but to be honest, i don't truly believe that if there was a future story down the road that he would prove that his living was worth her dying.

i will sacrifice Caleb if it will bring Tris back.

Damn it Caleb why couldn't you love your sister as much as she loved you? Had you we would not be in this mess.

^^ I agree!
