It Takes a Witch is a fun "weekend" read. You'll surely enjoy it. I just finished the second book of the series and will probably start on the third book this weekend as soon as I finished My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry.
Re: Lourdes, you are right, it is a fun read, and I am enjoying it. I believe I am going to like this series, so glad that you mentioned it! :D
I really enjoyed
I read it as part of a buddy read and I'm actually eager to continue with the series. For some reason I usually tend to read stand alone novels or just the first book in a series, but this one really grabbed me. I'm not even sure why. Kids, superpowers, good clean fun. :)

I'm glad that you enjoyed it, Misty. I was really impressed with it, and loved it, myself.
Excellent, excellent series and I highly recommend it! :D

Does anyone know any books for young boys, for example what would the male equivalent of Junie B Jones be? I've had The Magic Tree House suggested which we'll be looking for tomorrow at the library but I was wondering if anyone had a couple more ideas for backup in case they don't have my first option in stock.
Thanks!!
He's only six and his personal reading level is at the VERY very beginning. Just simple sight words and easy to sound out words. But he can understand a much higher reading level if I read aloud, which is more what I was looking for. I'll look up Time Warp Trio. Sounds interesting thanks!!!
I just finished reading Rapture in Death, the 4th book of J.D. Robb's In Death series. It's not really a clean read because of some profanity and sex scenes which I skipped reading. However, I rated it 5 stars because it's fast-paced and the story line is interesting because it was set in the future (2058). I think there's about 50 books in this series and I plan to read all of them.
Re: Lourdes, Wow..... a 50-book series! Sadly, because of her use of profanity and sex scenes, Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb is not an author for me. :(
Pamela wrote: "Misty, Nate the great books might work, too. I'll try to think of others."Nate the Great!!! I forgot about those!!! Thanks for all your help. I have a list going now, awesome!!! Let me know if you come up with anything else..... And I'm SOOO happy you're reading The Princess Bride!!! It's in my top faves of all time and I try and make everyone I know read it, Lol.
Hi. I'm currently reading The Four Swans by Winston Graham. It is just ahead of the tv series Poldark and the 6th in the series. although i knew most of the story the book is much richer. Have thoroughly enjoyed reading the series thus far. I'm reading the kindle version as it was much cheaper to aquire.
I just finished the first book in the Wishcraft Mystery series. It was a fun well written read, and I will definitely read more of this series.
Right now I want to start another western Historical Romance in the McCutcheon Family Series~

My son really loved the "Hank the Cowdog" series (the audio versions are great!) and "Geronimo Stilton" for book series.
I'm sorry to say that Book 2 of Apparition Lake~
was a disappointment by being over the top with violence and gore, moreso than book 1,which was more than I prefer, so no, I would not recommend these books for those who do not care for than in the books they read. :(
Now as an avid Anglophile and once avid gardener, I am reading a cozy mystery set in England~
I have high hopes for this series! :D

I'm just at 33% ,but already skimming, because it just isn't engaging me. I am struggling to continue.
The next book in line I have already picked up the PB edition from my library of
which was highly recommended by Odette Knappers.

out of my TBR list. I'm not really fond of too much gore and violence. Thanks for the tip.
I've picked up Heidi Burke's Nyssa Glass Steampunk books again. Just about finished with The Juliet Dilemma, part of "The Ultimate Nyssa Glass" collection. They're good, if short.Very clean, and sweet. I recommend the books to anyone who likes Steampunk, or who wants a good intro to it.
I just finished Deathwatch by Dana Marton and I really liked it. Kate is competent, no nonsense, and yet still a bit frightening as she works to protect herself from a hitman. (Meaning, some of the things she does make me cringe, but they are totally believable for a woman in DIY witness protection.) Murphy is lovable, flaws and all. The author took on portraying PTS in a very real way, and created two characters well-suited to help each other out.
Despite the expedited pace of their relationship, it still feels mostly believable. They have chemistry that results in several toe-curling kisses - but no sex until almost the end.
The story is well paced, and the revelations are well timed - several suspects are presented and I was kept guessing until nearly the end.
Fair warning: While the book is 95% clean - with some endearing curses from the chocolate-loving heroine - there is one F-bomb, near the end, and four instances of the S word, and two explicit sex scenes that you can totally skip as they happen after the resolution of the action. Especially the 2nd sex scene, as it is like the final scene and totally gratuitous. (Honestly, I don't know why the author she felt she had to put them in.)
I am almost finished with, and have very much enjoyed the YA-Sci-Fi-Dystopian-
With the way so many people are hooked on their cell phones and apps, I can so see this happening!

I'm almost done reading the 2nd book of the Rose Gardner series,
and so far I'm liking it. I read a few of the reviews and some people think it's silly but I thought it was hilarious. I find myself giggling most times and my husband is just giving me these funny looks... lol ... I will definitely read the series. Amazon has volume sets in kindle edition and I will most likely get them soon.
Well I tried my first Sophie Kinsella~
but could not get into it at all! I found the main character unlikeable and just TSTL.The story is ridiculous, about a woman who is heavily in debt because she lacks the self control to resist buying almost everything she sets her eyes on, and things she just thinks about.
Of course in real life her credit card account would have been closed, but in this book, she always has her Visa card to charge even more!
I may try one more book in this series, if I can find a topic that interests me more.

Tried a second Sophie Kinsella book in a different series and could not finish it either! Just cannot take ridiculously absurd scenarios that are supposed to be believed.
Now I am reading my first Charlaine Harris~

I read the first book of the Sookie Stackhouse series a long time ago and it was an ok read for me. I'm not really fond of vampire stories. But, I read most of Anne Rice's vampire chronicles a few years back and I enjoyed it very much. Her novels engaged my attention and interest for some reason. She has a distinct style of writing when it comes to vampire stories.
Hi Lourdes, this is my first vampire story besides Dracula, which I only rated 3-stars.I already like the character of Sookie Stackhouse so much better than either of the Kinsella characters, and I am finding Dead Until Dark a fun read.
I never tried any of those by Ann Rice, so I probably will.

Anne Rice's vampires spoiled me for any other. When I first read them as a teen, it made me want to be a vampire. They're dark in places and very sensual. Not like graphic sex but I remember feeling rather titillated reading them.

I liked the movie too but, of course, the book is better, as always.
OH wow Kristi and Lourdes, I went to add 'Interview With The Vampire' to my TBR (very soon) list, and discovered to my surprise that I have read and rated it two stars! Seems I liked Louis, but hated Lestat! I think I will re-read it.... but right now must admit that I am liking the vampire-Bill in
, lol!
, lol!
OOOPS spoke too soon, in favor of Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris! Quit at 22% pg.79 after a graphic sex scene and an "F" bomb! Man, I'm really striking out lately! :[
I'm hoping ~[bookcover:P.S. I Like You|25486998]will be as sweet and 'clean' as it sounds!

I recently read
Above the Bridge, by Deborah Garner.
It's the story of a reporter from New York who makes her way to Jackson Hole, WY to research a story about the Old West. Her investigation leads her to a legend of buried treasure and to a very attractive cowboy. The story is completely clean, includes a lot of references to and descriptions of the area, and is the start of a series. It was, at times, a little slow-moving and I had to suspend reality for a bit to get into the time travel scenes, but overall an enjoyable story. I've started the second in the series.
Chris, I didn't like Lestat much either in interview, but you learn much more about him in The Vampire Lestat that makes him much more relatable and likable. Only seeing him from Louis's perspective, he really did seem like a jerk, but you get Lestat's side of the story in his book. I actually liked the second book best.
Hi Kristi, I see I hated that one too! It seems Anne Rice is just not the author for me. :(
Right now I am enjoying ~
for my night time read on my Kindle Paperwhite. So far it is funny, sweet and 'clean'.
I also started my first Mary Stewart book yesterday afternoon~
and I think I will really like this one, as well.

Ooh, I loved Mary Stewart when I was a kid. Especially her King Arthur books, The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills, and The Last Enchantment. They're told from Merlin's point of view.Although, I think I liked Rosemary Sutcliffe's Arthur better.
Ahhhh my favorite season(Fall), with my favorite holiday(Halloween), so time to read some fun books, and my first pick is a Cozy Mystery~
I hope I haven't added this already but I truly loved
and would recommend to anyone who likes sci-fi/fantasy It seems I can recall some very minor language and violence but quite clean overall.
I'm reading an advance copy of our very own Misty Mounts' The Shadow Girl, and I'm enjoying it. It vividly depicts teen angst and so far I've been very drawn in.
Well what a coincidence because I just finished To make a King by Kristi Cramer :)) It a fun, fantasy adventure with plenty of sweet romance included.
I am on page -167 of~
