Thank you ... I think there is a great deal more to explore in vampire lore and legend ... evolution being one of them.

I think they are both ... in my book, "The Vampire Benning Wentworth" (excerpt available on Goodreads)I draw a distinction between "royals" those from human evolution and the fiends who are the product of negative human energy or the corruption of human flesh. In doing so, I free the vampire, those being the royals from Christian trappings, and note the fiends are determined in part by their human heritage.
