Laura (apenandzen) Has anyone read this book or any others by Fannie Flagg they can recommend? This is my first one by her, and I'm about halfway through. I have to say I am loving it. My husband recommended it, otherwise I'd have probably never picked it up, but it is interesting, funny, and even thought-provoking at times.

BUT I understand I'm reading the last of a series? Or she's written other books with some of the same characters that take place earlier in time? Does anyone know the scoop on Fannie Flagg? Are all of her books related?

That's all the questions.....

:)

Thanks for any info anyone can pass on.

Petra X (petra-x) Fannie Flagg is also an actress. She's most famous for her book Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe and the film based on it (for which she also wrote the screenplay) Fried Green Tomatoes.

These are the other books she wrote:

Welcome to the World, Baby Girl! (2001)
Standing in the Rainbow (2004)
Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man (2005)

I'm not 100% sure that the dates are right. All the books are set in Elmwood Springs and feature the same characters. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is not part of that series though.

Laura (apenandzen) Thanks Petra! So the other books are all part of the same series as Cant Wait to get to Heaven? I hope it won't mess me up that I read the most recent one.

Petra X (petra-x) I don't think so. I think they are stand-alone books as well, just familiar characters.
