Since this book came out I have used it several times with students as a read-aloud. Students absolutely love the double spread in which each of the ducklings falls into the grate. The top down perspective is wonderful. It is such a delightful book to pair with Make Way For Ducklings. Students are fascinated to know that the story in Lucky Ducklings really did happen. I do not think the illustrations are the "most distinguished".
