Raymond Palazzo | 3 comments The book The Maze Runner was an extremely riveting book filled to the brim with action and adventure. The book is about a young boy named Thomas who wakes up in complete darkness with no knowledge of who he is except for his first name. Once he comes out of "The Box", he is thrown into an all male society that has survived and flourished for over two years. He soon finds out that the small area they call home called the Glade, is actually inside of a massive maze that, to that point, had been unsolvable. Thomas soon learns about the society he has been thrown into and feels he is called to be a Runner, an elite few who actually go out into the maze and explore, attempting to solve the puzzle. As fun as this may sound, many unspeakable horrors await them in the maze. The Grievers, a terrible mix of living flesh and machine, roam the maze both night and day ready to attack any unsuspecting victim. Thomas' choice to become a Runner will start a chain of events that will pull him further into the mystery than he ever thought possible.

The adventure, suspense, excitement, and action is unparalleled and I could not sit the book down once I started reading it. The characters really draw you in and make you feel for them throughout the book in the good times and bad. The ending of the book leaves you hanging by a thread and just makes you want to go straight into the next book. I had little to no problems with the book and I am definitely going to read the sequel. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a thriller with an amazing story line or just likes plain action and adventure.

I like how you emphasize the story's suspense.
