Ha ha she can be a crazy old cat lady!!! LOL

message 102: by [deleted user] (new)

But that's what I'm going to be! My family told me so!!!! I DON'T WANNA BE LIKE HER! SAVE ME!

message 103: by [deleted user] (new)

It's ok.... you know your standards.....

message 104: by [deleted user] (new)

Right. I just love kitties. That's why my siblings said I was going to be some freaky cat lady that lives on the corner when I'm old and gray!

message 105: by [deleted user] (new)

Your not the only one. =] though I'm only teased by my dad cuz he hates cats.

message 106: by [deleted user] (new)

Ha ha! My dad just hates our cats. Sometimes I can't blame him.

I think Stephanie Meyer wanted other people besides mormons to like her book so she made sure that her character's values were low enough to be accepted by the world. Sorry, I know you guys were talking about temples, but I thought I had to put that in.

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 234 comments That's a good point, I never considered that. Still, in doing so, I think she took away from the books, rather tan adding to them. With lower values, her characters (like Bella, for instance) seem easier to relate to, but lose their worth as role models. I wish Stephenie Meyer hadn't done that. I think I would have enjoyed the books more.

ditto

Wolf wrote: "Meshach wrote: "Is Stephanie Meyer Mormon????"

i don't think she is."

yes she is! i have seen rumorous times that she is. and she didnt even write the books for mormon people. she wanted to put all the church stuff behind (not that she is not proud of being mormom) but she needed to make a book that people would like who were not in the church.

message 111: by [deleted user] (new)

I still don't believe that made it right.

message 112: by [deleted user] (new)

like what do you mean???

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

Like if I were writing that book I still wouldn't have put the immorality in it even if it did make it more appealing to the world. It's just not worth it to me. Her characters would also have seemed stronger and more beautiful in my eyes if they were able to control their lust and not give in to temptation. But whatever right, we all have our Free Agency. :D

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 234 comments Hey cool, your post reminded me of this awesome song from a previous EFY thingy. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE5KBt... It's a really pretty song.

message 115: by [deleted user] (new)

message 116: by [deleted user] (new)

That was a beautiful song! And yeah I went to Oquirh Mt. Temple! It was stunning! It literally stole my breath and put the Spirit in my heart instead.

message 117: by [deleted user] (new)

yep. The draper did for me.

message 118: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow guys. You have had some pretty deep conversations while I was gone! Geez. Jk but anyways... I totally agree with Jess about keeping your standards even if you want the rest of the world to like your book. anyways. I haven't been to the Oquirh Mt. Temple! Dang it. I really wanted to go. The Draper was really pretty.

I didn't feel the Spirit as much at Draper because I went with my YM YW group and lots of them were talking and stuff and I wanted them to shut up! But it was incredible! Especially the Celestial room! SO INCREDIBLE! yeah. that's all.

message 122: by [deleted user] (new)

That can be annoying, but for me they were quiet, and the talkative ones were a head, but we couldn't see them.

message 145: by [deleted user] (new)

I love how this whole thing kept drifting off to temples... I wonder how that happened? Anyways... ya guys she really is LDS. But anyways... umm.. I hear that Austenland wasn't such a good book? I wouldn't know, tho. Maybe it just had some bad choice language... anyone read it and know?

message 146: by Bailey (new)

Bailey | 76 comments i haven't.................. have you read Yearbook?

message 147: by [deleted user] (new)

I read a book by that author... and MET the author!!!!!!

message 148: by [deleted user] (new)

is the book good?

message 149: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah. it's called "freshman for president" where (i'm sure you couldn't guess) a freshman runs for president. when i saw it, i thought it looked lame, but Ally Condie is really funny adn can totally pull it off.

message 150: by [deleted user] (new)

Sounds kinda like "The Kid who ran For President" same idea. Really funny with a lot of sarcastic characters.
