Jeanne I had read this book in school and didn't remember much. I am so glad I read it again. In a time when racial prejudice was so rampant it was so good to feel the hope of Atticus. What a wonderful role model for his children. It seems like our present time has taken a step backward to hatred and intolerance. There is a choice.

Surabhi (surabhis) this book is so close to my heart and easily among my favourites.the best thing about this book is the innocence of the characters it so beautifully depicts.it has that 'nostalgic' and 'those-good-old-days'feel to it.

Parvathi | 53 comments I read this once when I was too young to understand it, then reread it again recently. Lovely book. So much symbolism and layers of meaning.

A wonderful read. This was required in high school, and I am glad I had the opportunity to read it then. It teaches us many things, and is also a great story!

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) Required reading in high school, this was one of the few I actually liked.
