Good luck with the baby, Kathy!!
I'm not a big fan of demons and all that, but I really enjoyed this book.
There were a couple of things that bugged me--the mom was so wrapped up in herself, she was almost neglectful, so why didn't the kids go live in town with their dad? I also wondered why the dad never noticed things in his kids and never talked to them about it. It was explained, yet he should have warned or prepared them, IMO.
I thought it was great that Aisi was able to help her brother and I LOVED the scene in the locker room with Monica when she showed her what's what, although I later felt bad for Monica. Being such a small town, how did no one know all of this?
I thought it got pretty exciting when Colby and Vance came to town--I couldn't tell at first if they were good or bad. They also seemed a lot older than barely in college.
I thought it was a good choice for October.

This book had its moments, but didn't really grab me. About a third of the way through I started skimming it just so I could see how it all ended. Since that happened a couple of months ago I don't have much other recollection of this book. The main characters were African-American, right? I thought that was kind of different and nice to read. I guess I'm not very helpful to this discussion. Shutting up and going away now. :)
Kath, I was with you! This month got away from me and I too didn't get a chance to read it. But I love reading all of your reviews! They truly help me in my love/dislike for books. :)
