Denise Main | 2 comments Thank you Lisa for letting me offer my book for review!
I have five books (in pdf, mobi, epub) for an "author provided honest review."

This book is the fifth in the 'Structure' series and follows on directly from 'Cold Day in Hell'. But I have to warn you there is are a couple of very explicit scenes of a sexual male / (sort of) male nature, so no under 18 readers, sorry.

Many thanks to all reviews!

Azarial used to be a typical resident of Hell– she was self-employed and had an assistant, a home (although that really belonged to her mother Sariel, one of the Fallen and an ex-Archangel). But her friends… well, they were a little disruptive and through them, she ended up breaking more rules than she’d ever heard of. Her assistant, Tonk the imp, streetwise and cocky, did what he could to aid and abet, but there were times when even he despaired of his boss.

Now she is the mentor to Kalesh – a Nightchild – youngest son of the ruler of possibly the most powerful race alive, and guiding the delectable young man through his coming of age. Since only people from Kalesh’s world are ever mentors, that’s one rule broken plus a few related ones on the side.

Then her magic goes awry and Lord Lucifer, the acting ruler of Hell has to fix things, which he’s not too happy about. A short while later, a band of harpies come flying in and they aren’t happy, either. Landing on Azarial’s rooftop they engage her, Tonk, Kalesh and his two brothers in a bloody fight, which in turn leads to a bizarre encounter with a bow toting love god… and the breaking of another rule or so along the way.

But when Azarial’s same two life-long friends and occasional lovers, who just fought by her side and caused most of the law-breaking in the first place, coldly desert her, she turns to an old, forbidden magic to get them back again; and that brings a whole new set of problems with it. When she has a horrible dream about an angel and the Creator, and the possible answer to a question constantly plaguing her, the identity of her Father, she dismisses it, more concerned with exacting revenge on Kalesh’s two brothers. Only it wasn’t exactly a dream.

In trying to put one thing right, Azarial does so many things wrong and brings a whole avalanche of seemingly unrelated events down on her head. All she really wants to do is her job and get paid. It’s enough to tempt a demon off the straight and narrow. Even one who messes with those ancient spells and releases another side of herself she didn’t know existed. A dark side she might regret and get stuck with for a long time.
