I would love to Buddy Read this. How does it work?
Lisa wrote: "I would love to Buddy Read this. How does it work?"We set how many chapters we would like to read on the start date, or depending on how we want to do it, we can read on our own pace! Then once reading so many pages or chapters we can come back here and post spoilers, comments, and or thoughts we have so far on what we have read. (:
I'm getting nervous....I don't have my copy yet... :(if I don't get word from the library that I'll have it tomorrow....is it okay if we kick the date out?
the library currently has 3 copies just sitting out there...so i should really have it anyday... but I'll let you know tomorrow!!
I actually am not going to be able to get mine in time so it would actually work perfectly if we kicked the date out.
I'm in the middle of reading this with my eight year old now can't wait to discuss it with everyone!
:) Official start of my week off for Thanksgiving... works for me. :)
Yeah it is a quick read. I have been reading it with my eight year old or I would have had it finished by now I got it from the library a few weeks ago but still working on it and plan to join in on the discussion when you guys start

Did you know that the author of this book is the wife of Michael Grant, the author of the Gone series?
so I've started this onewith my 9 year old
lol we're reading out loud to each other.
This buddy read is probably going to take me a while to read - days on days
but I love it so far!! It's so great. Ivan has a great way with words. Like he said, he doesn't waste them like humans
and I love that he eats his crayons once he's done using them! we laughed out loud to that!
Aw that is so cute! I hope both you and her enjoy it! Ivan is so funny! I am a little over 50 pages in and it is so cute! Adorable! I love reading from the point of view of a gorilla! ahha! So unique!

I'm with you there. Reading outloud with my eight year old. Though we are half way trough it already I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we are. Tried to get my 14 yr old to read it with us be he lost interest when ever we're reading this he reads his diary of a wimpy kid books (can't get him to ready anything but that and Big Nate)
I finished! Soo good! I loved it sooooooo much! One of my favorites this year and definitely my favorite juvenile fiction book!
we finished this morning :) so sweet I loved Ivan and Bob and Ruby and Stella. Ending was bittersweet but still adorable.
oh man, lol I'm the last hold outwell, I think we will take many many more days (probably all week)
so we can move this to completed :)
I'll post when we're done whatever my daughter says.
Yay! I'm so glad you guys liked it!

I know I can't believe I finished before you. Haha but we started it the end of October when we brought it home from the library. My daughter got a kick out of Bob. At times I thought she wasn't listening but then she would ask questions about it so I knew she was comprehending it. :)
So glad your daughter loved it, Emily! Definitely a bittersweet and adorable ending! Take your time, Trisha! I can't wait to see what you and your daughter thinks of it! I know you will both love it!
ha! I love that you finished before me! ;DI know, it's tough with so many in the house AND we are on Thanksgiving break! So it's hard to corner my youngest to get her to read together :)
hopefully we'll get to 100 pages today and try to do about 50 - 100 every day. We'll see how it goes :)
We are on break too! (: I love how you guys are reading to each other, Trisha!
Emily, did you just read it to your daughter?
Yikes, well, go ahead and move this onemy daughter just told me she joined a reading group at school.
we have 4 days to read a book together.
so this one is on the back burner until we finish that one lol but we'll get there and then I'll post :D
