Reviews on Amazon

Just take what you can get and be happy someone took the time to rate and leave a review on your book. A lot of times people don't always leave reviews even when asked(perhaps a reason they don't because their being told) so an author should be happy with whatever kind of review they got. Bad or good, they should share it and perhaps it drives in other readers, after all some people choose what books to read based of reviews by others.

I never take notice of reviews as I prefer to decide myself based on the blurb.

I don't know.. sometimes reviews are great. But usually I don't take notice of reviews...

I agree with all comments stating that one bad review is not the end of the world for an author. I would add that if there is not at least one poor review to add legitimacy I start to wonder. Even the greatest books will have readers who can't stand them - that's human nature and part of the organic nature in the growth of popularity of a creative work. (Book, movie, song, painting et cetera).
