Hm, this year I have US history, English, Spanish, Chemistry, and Algebra/Trig. Plus lunch and gym and working at the preschool. Not in that order though. X)

I'm unsure about whether to be worried about Algebra, because 8th grade Algebra wasn't too hard, and 9th grade Geometry was too hard either. But this could be really hard out of nowhere, you know? I still don't like math that much, even if I'm good at it. 7th grade and 9th grade were the only years math was fun. X)

message 6656: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments I despise both Math and Science....what am I doing a a "Math and Science Academy" again?

message 6657: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
I <333 science. hahah. I never understood how math and science are always in the same sentence like that when they are so different.

message 6658: by Sheeky (new)

Sheeky (sheekster) Omg I hate Math and Science too!

message 6659: by Marley (new)

haha. I am. Even as a little kid, a trip to see the dinosaur fossils was the coolest thing that could have happened.

lol

What science do you have this year?

message 6664: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments I think history and literature are 101% more exciting than science and math. (when i have to do the actual studying)

message 6665: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
Science is the most riveting thing out there, yes, even compared to US history and reading.

TRUTH! I hate Sci and math...

Sheeky (sheekster) I think I got Life Science this year.

False. I hate it, not interesting in the least. Talk to my mother...she'd enjoy your company.

lol

Life Science, so you have biology.Biology is considered the easiest of the 3 major science subjects, but there are some difficult concepts to understand. What grade are you going to have it in?

message 6670: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments My mom teaches Biology...

7th.

message 6672: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
I had bio in 7th too. You'll do fine, it's pretty easy stuff.

message 6673: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Science is actually pretty easy, I just in general don't like it....

message 6674: by [deleted user] (new)

Except when you guys get to Chem and have to memorize the periodic table (x

message 6675: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments that will suck. But I do love learning about the makeup of atoms.

message 6676: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
Atoms, with protons, neutrons and electrons are physics, I think you would have that in 8th grade.

message 6677: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments We brushed up on it, but I would have liked to go deeper.

message 6678: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
Mostly with atoms in 8th you do different kinds of chemical bonds, valance elections, learning how they can bond with each other.

message 6679: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments Yep (i am going into 9th). We learned about that and why they are solid/liquid/gas. Stuff like that.

message 6680: by [deleted user] (last edited Aug 20, 2009 05:49PM) (new)

You learn about the atom and the basics of if it and about the different kinds of matter in junior high and before. Then you go to biology, where you dissect frogs or pigs, then you go to chemistry where you light things on fire and memorize the periodic table, then you go to physics where you do word problems about vectors and other shitty things.

message 6681: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
We dissected rats, and the upperclassman do cats. XD

message 6682: by [deleted user] (new)

CATS? Aw. But cats are household pets )=

We dissected pigs. I took bio freshman year.

message 6683: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments Urgh. I got in trouble.

I wrote the word flicker but capitalized and it looks like the word fucker. My mom was standing behind me...

message 6684: by [deleted user] (new)

message 6685: by Liz (new)
