Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments They're fun, but I'm using the computer, and so I can't find one on Youtube. And we don't have any DVD ones. So, I'd have to find on TV, which is impossible....

Kyle Borland (kgborland) I have an idea for Socialized Healthcare.

Laura Ingram just said that a blue state should 'test' the program. Which is what your supposed to do anyways. So any blue states willing to do it?

message 6053: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments what exactly is this plan

message 6054: by Jayda (new)

Jayda That might not work considering every state is different and all of them would take it and use it differently, don't you think? Different people, different places, different hospitals, etcetera. Just because it works on the people in one state doesn't mean it would necessarily work the same way in another. Am I wrong?

message 6055: by Kyle (last edited Aug 07, 2009 08:15PM) (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) the plan the congress has been debating over like all summer. The socialized healthcare plan.

A blue state should test it, to see how it works.

Omg...Obama frigin attacked the people protesting the city hall people...what an ass.

By that logic we shouldn't even have it. Then any blue states that want to do it can do it all across the coutnry and we can see first hand about how obama's plan sucks.

message 6057: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments what do you mean?

message 6058: by Jayda (new)

Jayda Which is one reason why I have a problem with it being nationalized. Not every state will take it the same way, so blanketing it over everything is a little risky.

message 6059: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments going to the hospital and it being free. wow. damn not every state would do that the same....

message 6060: by Jayda (last edited Aug 07, 2009 08:28PM) (new)

Jayda I think it wouldn't affect each state the same, is what I'm saying, considering that each state is different financially, politically, population-wise, etcetera.

message 6061: by Kyle (last edited Aug 07, 2009 08:23PM) (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) Apparently in this plan you get to keep the healthcare you have but still...

which is good because my healthcare is SO much better than this shitty ass plan.

message 6062: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments that has nothing to do with anything.

I've read that the plan says in black and white on page 16 of the bill that you cannot keep your current insurance.

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments Kyle wrote: "Liz wrote: "going to the hospital and it being free. wow. damn not every state would do that the same.... "

i mean it wouldn't be out of pocket. of course we would be taxed and shit, but they already do that. a little more ain't going to kill us. and (my family) has hundreds of dollars taken out of their paychecks to get health benefits. and if we legalized marijuana it would pay for ALL of the expenses.

message 6068: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) Liz wrote: "that has nothing to do with anything."

ACtually what Jayda is saying makes sense. The big cities, where most of the uninsured are most likely, are more crowded and so if you have your free healthcare there, its going to be much more crowded. Your care would also probably be less efficient.

And if you were talking about waht I said about my healthcare, it does make a difference. Because people who CAN afford healthcare and DO already pay for it, why would we want the shitty healthcare plan that they are developing?

This is a TRILLION DOLLAR plan...no marijuana legalization would not pay for this.

ok :)

message 6074: by Jayda (new)

Jayda Hahaha xD

But considering how many are currently uninsured, by what Obama says, half of those people don't go to the hospitals unless needed, am I right? More? Less people than I'm saying it?

message 6075: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) So, take the people who are insured now, then the people who aren't and would be under this plan...well...thats very crowded hospital.

message 6076: by Jayda (new)

Jayda Yes. Yes it is.

message 6077: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) dude...congress just spent $500 million on private jets for themselves...WTF?!?! These are the assholes talking about carbon footprint and they go and do this? hypocrite alert!

well just saying.... i went to my dermatologist about a week ago and i had to wait 45 minutes. and i went to my normal doctor for a checkup the next week(this week) and waited over 1 hr. i don't know what you would call that. the good doctors you have to wait for anyways..

And it will be even worse...

message 6080: by Jayda (new)

Jayda I second that, Kyle.

message 6081: by Jayda (new)

Jayda Plus, I'd say it would depend on where you live and what doctor you go to. My doctor always sees us within 10 minutes of our arrival (since we get appointments ahead of time) and the longest I've waited for a doctor's appointment (that I remember) for myself is 1-2 hours. It depends on the doctor, on the time of the appointment, on how the day has gone for the doctor with other appointments (often time a doctor's time with one patient is dragged long, so the appointments fall behind in time), and where you live.

message 6082: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments maybe but at least people wouldn't be dying over simple things that could be fixed if they had seen a doctor and the emergency rooms wouldn't be so full that people who had emergencies can't get care.

we always have to book about a month ahead and the dermatologist over two months (they are in very high demand)

That would be part of why you probably wait so long.
It depends on the doctor, on the time of the appointment (you're more likely to wait with an afternoon-evening appointment than with a morning appointment), and their demand.

Our Neuro-Spine doctor is in high demand, as well, along with our Neurologist, so I know what you mean about booking ahead of time.

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments i wished it wasn't like this, i wish everybody could see a doctor whenever they wanted. and get the drugs they needed.

Thats how socialized healthcare is supposed to be...but...yeah it just don't work...

message 6088: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments how do you know that though. it works in many other countries.

message 6089: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) Because the plan they have out sucks. If they had a better plan, fine. But the plan sucks and angry people are breaking out at city halls. Obama is being a dumbass by telling them to shut up...

For such a great communicator he is TERRIBLE salesman which only shows me that he knows how shitty the plan is for the majority of the american people.
