Lilli Aben | 1 comments A life-long friend started a blog a while back, and it has helped me through difficulties in love, life and emotional turmoil. This woman is truly a gem, and I wanted to share her information in case anybody is in need of some inspiration.

You can find it at halfpoundwords.blogspot.com

Some quotes from her writing:

"I have had many moments of sheer joy in my life, but when I am most fulfilled, I am at peace with things exactly how they are. If acceptance is the answer to all of my problems, then I can find peace in situations that are painful. Many are taught that they cannot be in pain and be happy simultaneously. Whether or not this is true, I could not say. What I do know is that I have been in pain before, but have experienced peace within the storm. Sure, I wasn't happy about it, but the pain did not swallow me whole. Just imagine how blissed out one can be when things are going really well, if he or she can find acceptance even in the less than desirable. I do not do this perfectly, but life is a work in progress."

"Being a kid affords us the opportunity to engage in a lot of creature comforts if we feel safe in our living environment. Even with that luxury, I spent the first half of my life dying to "grow up." When I hit twenty-seven I had to ask myself, "Why would I want to spend adulthood striving to be a kid again, when I already wasted my only childhood forging the way into 401Ks and home furnishings?" I have waited my whole life for this and I intend to enjoy it."

"She will grow old and collect buttons. She will have ten dogs and four purple sweaters. She will cast out messages in bottles bigger than thimbles and never think it too late to wish on full moons."

Enjoy!
