I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought his book was sub-par. I will still read the third installment, just to see how it ends, but I'm not anxiously awaiting the opportunity. If it's anything like the second book it will be really disappointing.
You're definitely NOT the only one. I got partway into it and found it boring. I have no interest in picking up the third. It's too bad because I really liked the first one.
I know the first one was the best but the second book in the trilogy is supposed to be the best. Veronica Roth screwed up trying to make too many love triangles. The whole Day-June-Adien was fine with me as far as I read the book. Bringing in Tessa was really a waster because in the first book I really thought she was like 12 or something,
I was really excited to finally get around to reading these books. I'm not sure why I thought they'd be so fantastic, but they did disappoint me. Book one was pretty strong, but book 2 fell short and book 3 fell shorter. The plot felt pretty generic to me (not unoriginal, just generic). I was rarely dealt a surprise in here and the author was pushing a relationship on us that I just didn't believe in (Day and June). And as mentioned above, there was a love triangle. 2 of them, actually. This series gave me a similar feel to the "Matched" series. These authors are trying to hard to come up with original YA dystopian stories and many are mediocre at best.
i didn't like prodigy as much as i liked Legend.I am actually happy about what day said to June in the end. i didn't think they belonged together.
Phew! I found the same thing. There was so much hype centered around this book that I could restrain myself no longer to pick the series up. But it took me a long time to get through and I didn`t catch what all the fuss is about.
I hate how she ends the book with the doctor telling Day that he's dying...then she goes off and makes Day break up with June!!!I mean seriously that's not cool at all!!!!!!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt the main relationship was forced. I didn't like the characters together at all. In fact, I liked Anden and June together much better. But Tess and Day was super creepy imo. The second she turns 12 he's all into her? Ew. I did, however, think the action in this book was good. The villain changed from Jameson/Thomas to the Patriots, so it still felt like there was enough conflict, just a different one from book 1.
I will say that I have read the third book and I actually loved it. Maybe it's because I stepped away from the series for awhile, or maybe my hatred of Prodigy caused me to go into Champion with low expectations - I'm not sure. But I thought it was leagues better than Prodigy. Lu expands the setting a bit more and focuses on the action rather than the love triangles, which I'm sure everyone will appreciate. :)
I didn't love the first one either, the third one was the best out of them all I feel. Overall I'd give this trilogy a solid 3 stars. I can't understand all the hype. And the romance between June and Day just didn't do it for me.

Did anyone feel this way after reading Prodigy? I can't believe how many people gave this book 4 or 5 stars, it's nowhere near that good.
