The actions outside of their relationship that are moving the story forward--I'm not seeing much of that at about 20%.

I was struggling with that too. (view spoiler) I could totally be wrong and they all turn out to be aliens. That's just the feeling I was getting. I'm glad there's still somebody reading with us :-) I haven't had a chance to read any yet today but I have a meeting this evening and I'm definitely reading a little later.

Ahhhh, I see. I was kinda thinking that's what it was all about. It is a really unique writing style. I like that aspect of it. Although, I'm not used to present tense, and that throws me off sometimes. But OMG, we get Edward's POV?! Get me to that point nowwwww.

I'm an only child too :-) This book is bringing up all sorts of memories and feelings for me. Good and bad. I was actually a pretty good kid until college but like Bella I was around some crazy shit by association. So I can relate to their "activities" even at their age.
I'm so excited!!!! I was joking about the aliens. I'm not a big fan of paranormal so I'd be seriously hacked off.
I'd be more excited if they were surrounded by zombies. Alien sex reaches outside of my kink zone.

No I don't watch WD but I did enjoy Kylie Scott's books and a few zombie movies :-)I don't watch near as much tv as I used to but I do watch a few shows still, I stay on top of The Voice. I love it.

Oh I know you're having fun with that! Our WC audit is next month but luckily I don't have to prepare for it. I just help a little here and there. Hopefully everything balances out :-)I'm actually surprised how fast I'm getting through it after dreading the 1200 pages. Books have been taking me forever lately, so I'm glad I'm enjoying this one.

So is it moving fast for you now? It's flying for me. I stopped last night at 41% but I could have read more. I couldn't sleep but instead of devouring the book I decided to watch TV and cruise Facebook. It keeps skipping weeks and months and they're almost at the end of another school year already. It got pretty intense at 38% but it's been kind of calm since then which has me terrified! I really need to avoid the book today... We'll see how good my will power is ;-)

lol, I'm here! I'm still creeping along at 20ish%? Edward just went over to Pete's for his 16th birthday party. I do like reading things from his POV, but I still get pissed at him--stuff he says and the way he's acting. I don't know if I can make it through this whole book without taking breaks to read something else. I'm just not "into it" like I thought I would be. I'm a huge Twilight fan, so maybe that has something to do with it? I know this is nothing like it, basically only the character names are the same, but there's something about it that irks me and I can't get past it. The writing is very unique and poetic, but I guess I'm just not becoming emotionally attached to the story like I thought I would... that's a big must for me.
Oh Ashley, I'm sorry it's not working for you. Yeah fanfic is only about using the same characters and places...not recreating the story. I totally get where you're coming from about Edward and I really wanted to hate him (and I kinda did) but I couldn't bring myself to just completely write him off and I promise...it's gets better. Keep in mind, his age and that he and Bella are actually 'together'. I'm not making excuses for him I promise...I'm kind of a hard ass usually.

Hey Ashley, sorry I've been in meetings this morning. My gif was a joke.....sort of ;-) If you read it then you'll understand. Anyone doesn't fall in love with Finn and Lilith....I just don't get. Kelly can vouch for me on this one. Also, I was just discussing this last night. A friend of mine has almost reached her goal of 400 books this year....she's at 388...The Tied Man is her #1 read for the year. I can't compare it to anything because its unlike anything else. I don't want to give the story away either. Just trust me and read it.

But I'm open to reading things that aren't necessarily "steamy romances." Sometimes that can get a little cliche.

Mine is spoiler free but don't read it until after you read the book. Message me your e-mail address and the books on me :-D I have seriously bought I don't know how many copies of this book. I really believe in and love this author! Even if she was a total cunt her book would still be good but she's so awesome! Clearly, she's demented (you'll see what I mean when you read it) but I love her! Her writing is brilliant! Oh God, I could gush about her all day long. Her and KMM.

YES, Summer! Sorry I'm a little late seeing this but that is exactly how I feel. I'm kinda struggling with finding the plot... I get that there's all this relationship-building between Alice/Bella and Bella/Edward, but... what's the "point?" Is it coming soon? Because I'm at 20%ish.
