Who's your favorite author? Why? What books did he/she write?

My favorite author is J.K Rowling! She writes the Harry Potter Series! She makes it feel like your there and has a good/ sad background story on Harry Potter. I want to here more about other peoples favorite authors. So just speak up! Also feel free to add books on to the bookshelf. Thanks!
