I'm listening to Ready, Player One. I was going to start The Dream Thieves but I think all bets will be off when Allegiant comes out on TUESDAY!!
I just finished listening to I Am Half-Sick of Shadows from the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley. Now I'm reading the next book in the series, Speaking From Among the Bones.
Molly wrote: "I just completed Gillian Flynn's first two novels (author of "Gone Girl") which are "Sharp Objects" and "Dark Places" and have to agree with some of my friends, in that I liked them much better tha..."Told you so -- Viccy
Jennie wrote: "I'm listening to Ready, Player One. I was going to start The Dream Thieves but I think all bets will be off when Allegiant comes out on TUESDAY!!"Loved this book. He is behind on the sequel, unfortunately. We expect him to finally make an appearance at the Lariat Luncheon this year! Viccy
I am reading Joe R. Lansdale's newest, The Thicket and loving it. I don't think I have ever read a bad book by him. He captures East Texas gothic perfectly!
Jennie wrote: "I'm listening to Ready, Player One. I was going to start The Dream Thieves but I think all bets will be off when Allegiant comes out on TUESDAY!!"I LOVED that book. I didn't think I would like it, but I found myself speed reading I liked it so much. Hope you enjoy it too.
I am currently reading Death of an Intern by Keith M. Donaldson. It's the first in the Laura Wolfe mystery series. It was a winner of a Finalist Award in the Mystery Category of the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. I'm really enjoying it. It has a strong female character which I like.

I'm reading Karen Robards Last Kiss Goodby and J.D. Robb's Glory in Death. Gotta love the authors whose last name starts with "R"!

Will do!
Just finished The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson. It's the sequel to The Name of the Star about the Jack the Ripper copycat. It's the typical second book in a trilogy where not a lot happens, and everything gets set up for the third book. I'm about to start 3:59 by Gretchen McNeil, who wrote Ten (like Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians).
Jennie wrote: "I'm listening to Ready, Player One. I was going to start The Dream Thieves but I think all bets will be off when Allegiant comes out on TUESDAY!!"Yay, Jennie!! I can't wait for Armada.
I am currently reading The Shining by Stephen King. I am generally not a King fan, but I don't want this book to end!
I'm reading All These Things I've Done by Gabrielle Zevin. It's really good so far! It should be classified as Horror--I mean, it's set in a future where chocolate AND caffeine are illegal? What could be scarier than THAT?!
Just finished a very interesting book about a woman and her two daughters fleeing a polygamous cult. Beautiful, languid language.
Viccy wrote: "Just finished a very interesting book about a woman and her two daughters fleeing a polygamous cult. Beautiful, languid language."This has been on my to-read list ever since I first heard about it. Sounds like a fascinating topic.
Molly wrote: "Reading "Fatal Voyage" - the fourth book in Kathy Reich's BONES series. Although I'm not a fan of the TV series, I really enjoy the books. This might be my favorite so far!"
I'm the exact opposite. I didn't like the books at all, but I love the TV show. Let's be honest. It's because David Boreanaz played Angel.

I started reading The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, but then I got to a part that made my eyes leak slightly, and I haven't gone back to it yet.
I'm reading Loki's Wolves by Melissa Marr and Kelly Armstrong. It's SO GOOD! If you have anyone looking for a Lightning Thief readalike I highly recommend this series.
Jennie wrote: "I'm reading Loki's Wolves by Melissa Marr and Kelly Armstrong. It's SO GOOD! If you have anyone looking for a Lightning Thief readalike I highly recommend this series."I love both of those authors, so I will have to check that one out, Jennie.
Just finished The Rosie Project by Graeme C. Simsion and I really loved it. If you enjoy watching The Big Bang Theory you will love this book. It's about a genetics professor who decides it's time to get married and starts his search with a wife project quesionaire.
Molly wrote: "Finally reading "The Fault in Our Stars"!! I think I'm possibly the last to this party!"Nope, not me, either! John Green on Facebook was hilarious talking about filming the movie. Will have to see that.
Rebecca wrote: "Just finished The Rosie Project by Graeme C. Simsion and I really loved it. If you enjoy watching The Big Bang Theory you will love this book. It's about a genetics professor who decides it's time ..."On my list.
I just finished listening to "Twelve Years a Slave" by Solomon Northrup. It was wonderful. I can't wait to see the movie now.Now I'm reading "Five Days at Memorial" by Sheri Fink. It's about the five days after Hurricane Katrina struck and what led to euthanizing several patients at the hospital on the last day of evacuations. The entire experience is haunting and horrifying, but reading this book is like the train wreck from which you just can't look away.
Heather wrote: "I started reading The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, but then I got to a part that made my eyes leak slightly, and I haven't gone back to it yet."Finish it! It is very exciting and action-ey. I promise it gets a bit better.
I am reading Night Film by Marisha Pessl. The macabre sneaks up on you. I appreciate the "articles" that provide a more in-depth background to the nightmare that is filmmaker Cordova.
I just finished reading The Aftermath by Rhidian Brook. It takes place in British-occupied Hamburg, Germany following World War II. It was a great read.
Now I'm reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. So far it's pretty interesting and intense.
I just started Mighty Be Our Powers: How Sisterhood, Prayer, and Sex Changed a Nation at War by Leymah Gbowee. Leymah is a real life heroine that brought the women of Liberia together during war in order to wage peace. So far, it's incredible. How do you add the book covers to your posts?
OMG, I just finished the best book I have read all year, no lie. The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. The Ocean at the End of the Lane
I just started Holly Black's The Coldest Girl in Coldtown--it's shaping up to be a good choice for a snow day!

When you're posting there's a link above the box where you type that says "add book/author". It gives you the option of adding a link to the book in Goodreads or a picture of the cover which also links to the book.

Just started "A Game of Thrones" by George R.R. Martin! Not even 100 pages into it and addicted already. Fortunately, this will be one I can enjoy for a long tim..."You haven't watched the HBO series? You will not be able to stop watching it. AND there are lots and lots of books with lots and lots and lots of pages!
I just started reading "A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide" by Stephanie Powers.A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide
I can see why it won the Pulitzer Prize. The writing is very powerful. I think, however, that I'm going to need to add a bit of fluff to my reading list after this one just for balance.
