Glad to find this thread. I wanted to introduce you to a new series for MG students. It's an action/adventure series with a strong female lead. Bending Willow was chosen to represent Nevada at the national book festival in Washington D.C. It has spent 15 weeks on Amazon's bestselling top 100 for MG Action/Adventure. Give it a try!
