If it's not too much to ask, I'd prefer it if my partner lives in Great Britain.
Oh and I'd rather receive my bookmark through the post if that is alright with everyone."
Can't promise you that Cheryl.
If more than one would like to send not far away, could you do me the courtesy of writing close to your name the country you're from? I'll start writing the ones I know!

I have the same opinion.

That was the reason why I thought NOT to use a "local" exchange: it is a light envelope to send, and if we do it on time they'll get "home" before Christmas!

Just my two pence worth. Am happy to send/receive abroad. I send postcards abroad from UK quite often and it's not too expensive if you send it slowly.

Charbel I hadn't realized! I have a real irrational soft spot for Lebanon though I have never been there. My first love was half Lebanese/ half Canadian and his family belongs to the nicest people I have ever met. I won't be going on about the food, because I hate when people associate Germany with Bratwurst ;) but Charbel: THE FOOD!!

Yes usually people are quite fond of the lebaneese food, though I'm not a big fan! It's strange, for a British-Lebanese I usually stay away from Mezze, shepard's pie and stake and kidney pie. My friends push my buttons by calling me picky, but I... I... yeah, I'm picky!

I'd prefer post as well as I find paper rather than card gets tatty too quickly.

Hey there Gemma! I don't think that it is too late, but Laura will let you know.
Hope things are going OK & you are not too sleep-deprived!
No no it's not too late: I was thinking of "summing up next monday!

Trust me Gemma, time will fly.
Now I get angry because my tubby little Max looses his wallet - with all his docoments! - at a comics Fair!

Was he in Lucca?

It certainly was with me Gemma. I barely read anything when mine were tiny.
Yes he was dely! And my daughter as well, but yesterday and with the mother of a friend of hers! Luccacomics is a favourite of my children!!!!
And now for our swap: I tried to mix coutries and continents, so everybody has to send far away and to receive from far away.
I was thinking that since Amber is the only one who wants to send and receive via email, I'd keep her out of the list and whoever likes to send her an elettronic bookmark and receive one can write an MP for the address. I'll be one, for istance!
The list turned out this way:
LauraT - Italy sends to
Alannah - United Kingdom sends to
Petra - Canada sends to
Leslie - USA sends to
Charbel - Lebanon sends to
Heather - The United Kingdom sends to
Jenny - Germany sends to
Gill - The United Kingdom sends to
Diana S - USA sends to
Jo - The United Kingdom sends to
Katrina - USA sends to
Cheryl - The United Kingdom sends to
dely - Italy sends to
Shirley - United Kingdom sends to
amber – USA sends to
Gemma - United Kingdom who sends to LauraT
Amber Via - USA email
@Cheryl: you were the one asking me to send not far away. If it is a problem for you to send it to dely in Italy, I can swap the two names so you'd have to send it to Shirley who would on her side send to dely. Let me know.
Is all the rest clear? Now we should contact the name we have to send and ask the home address; and then we have almost two months to buy/draw/design... the bookmark and let it arrive in time for the Christams tree.
Any questions?

I believe I am sending to you Gemma.

That is how I read it too - you receive from the person above you and send to the person below you (except Gemma who sends to Laura at the top of the list to complete the circle).

That's the way I've thought it!
Everybody writes to the one who's the "receiver" to know the address and write here if there are any problems!

Okay, good because I sent Gemma a message for her address right after I posted. :)

I have at my office an hot laminating machine - I don't really know how you call it, in italian is "plastificatrice" - and I usually have my bookmarks pass throuh it! I'll make a photo of it after the "treatment" and post it.
By the way, I was thinking if it is not to complicated, can each of us make a photo of the bookmark we receive and post it ini here on the 25 of December - or thereabouts?
Just to have a Christmas party on line!!!!
