Where would you go in Japan?

I would go to Kyoto because:
1. I speak 関西弁 (Kansai dialect)
2. Kyoto is very beautiful
3. I have family in Kyoto
4. Kenshin Himura is from Kyoto
5. I have many friends who live in Kyoto

Hi everyone, I'm new to the group but I love Japan. For me, my three picks would be Tokyo, Kyoto, then Hokkaido.

1) Tokyo for the fascinating mix of old and new.
2) Kyoto for the shrines and castles.
3) Okinawa because I've never been there but always see it pop up in books and movies. Anyone ever been there?

No I've never been but I'm planning on going next year x) Akihabara looks so awesome! I'm definitely planning on attending some concerts while I'm there, and I'm actually hoping to homestay so wish me luck :D

I caught X-Japan when they were in NYC a few years ago. I was shocked when I saw the queue stretched around the block! Which bands are you hoping to catch?

I'd love to catch Alice Nine, they're a huge favorite of mine, but I have lots of favorites - some of them even smaller, so I might end up hitting lots of concerts xD
I've got a 3-week trip in mind so I'm crossing my fingers about which bands I'll get to see.

I don't know many places in Japan, but if I ever visited, I think I would like to visit Akihabara and Okinawa. I hear Akihabara has loads of amazing shops and is a great place to get anime, games, manga and various paraphernalia. And Okinawa has really beautiful beaches, or so I've heard.

Number 4 is the reason I'd want to visit Kyoto. I had actually forgotten that fact.

I would go to Hokkaido for the snow festival. I've only been there in summer and it was gorgeous, but I would love to see the ice festival and get in some skiiing.

I'd love to go to Mount Osore in Aomori prefecture. It's supposed to be the gateway to Hell and they hold a festival there. I'd like to see it.

I would go to Shikoku, because it's the only one of the four main islands that I haven't visited. I would also like to go to Tanegashima for historical reasons.

Virginia, I've been to the snow festival and it's amazing. I would actually like to go to Sapporo in the summer because my one summer night in Sapporo, I saw a bunch of people practicing for another festival and would have loved to have been able to stay.
