Ham on Rye
question
Books with direct speech for a non-native English speaker

Hi guys,
I enjoy reading books and hope it will help me to improve not only written, but also verbal English.
I noticed that I like authors like Charles Bukowski or Tolstoy who write in quite simple sentences (esp. Bukowski).
I think that especially books with many dialogues or direct speech are helpful to improve conversational English.
Can you recommend some books with quite simple direct language which will help me improve my verbal English?
Thank you!

try Winesburg, Ohio , influenced bukowski. sherwood's lines lack verbosity and say more in one line than some authors say in a paragraph or a whole chapter.
I saw him on french TV. He was dead drunk. For me, he's associate with punk period. His style aged.
