Niknik (nik_nik) | 43 comments Could you please combine or add...

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

...with the other editions of this book?
I added my version (518 pages, Kindle), but now it doesn't come up with the rest of the editions.
(So it shows the I'm reading 2 separate books at the same time)

OH,and the eISBN from the book should read "978-0-385-53208-2". The number got cut off too.

I appreciate the help!
Thanks,
Nik

Kaye (potassiumreads) | 81 comments Done combining. Is that an ISBN or an ASIN?

That's a good question. It says "e-ISBN" in my book.
Which would that go under?

Z-squared | 8575 comments hi guys, i saw this and posted a merge request on another thread, since i thought no one was paying attention:

Kindle editions only have ASINs, even though in the text they often include the ebook ISBN as well. You have actually added an edition that was already there. I believe this is your kindle version:

The page numbers vary depending on kindle settings, so usually the page number Amazon lists is taken from a print version. Although Amazon does screw up page numbers a lot.. Regardless, unless your kindle version has a different ASIN, they are the same.

A superlibrarian will clean up the entries soon, so no further action needed.

Niknik (nik_nik) | 43 comments I realize the Kindle versions usually have ASIN's and those are usually found on the Amazon page with the page numbering info, however, I've stopped using the info from Amazon's webpage because of that reason- it's based on the paper book.

So this is just what I took from my Kindle book (518 pages and the eISBN).

I wouldn't be concerned about it except the big difference in page numbering (68 pages) and I thought someone just estimated 450 pages.

So I don't know...I'll let you all decide.
I went ahead and deleted one version from my reading shelf anyway because it still showed that I was reading 2 separate books. So that removed my reading history as it is.
~shrug~

Thx!! Nik

Z-squared | 8575 comments You didn't have to delete it :( When the superlibrarians get around to merging the editions, the two versions on your shelf would have become one. It just usually takes awhile for those requests to be answered.

As for pages, the numbering for ebooks is entirely arbitrary because it depends on which e-reader someone is using and that user's preferred font size. That's why Amazon lists print edition page numbers.

Oh I thought the merge was already done....see above.
I just figured I messed up my shelf by having 2 versions of the same book so the merge didn't work there.
Oh well...no biggie now!
