Kandice I think these books qualify. They always revolve around some sort of sick mind game. Cross is one of my favorite fictional characters, and casting Morgan Freeman...stroke of genius! I can never picture anyone else as I read now.

Lauren (lmorris) | 19 comments I just got into these book. I read one from the middle then realized it must be a series and just got the first one from the used book store. Looking forward to seeing how this all started out and what happened with his wife.

I used to like these but have stopped reading them. I find Patterson's writing to be pretty poor these days - I was recently at a holiday house and ran out of my own books - the only thing to read was an early one of Alex Cross books and it was so much better in terms of plot and characterisation than the last one I read which was DOUBLE CROSS.

Carol Patterson introduced a new character a few years ago in a book calledStep On A Crack. I thought he would write some more, but he never did. I really enjoyed that character. He was a NYC policeman, whose wife had died and he was raising 6 kids on his own.

Burney The last two books of this series that I've read are pretty good: Spy and Tsar. Especially Tsar has kept me really involved in the plot.

JP O'Donnell (jpodonnell) | 12 comments I just finished reading Cross. It stretches the limits of believability, but it's a pretty good read.
