Well obviously omniscent lets you view all sides without bias, but I prefer first person. I mean, to experience the emotions through one pair of eyes, to a really personal extent; That is how we live our lives, so it only makes sense to see the story in that manner.
I feel that, when reading omniscent, or third person, I cant often escape into the story as in first person when it keeps refferring to everyone abstractly. First person is the best bet for me. :)

I'm not too fond of third person for the same reasons you stated
I also have to choose first person. In third person, I just haven't been able to grown as fond of the characters. It's just harder for me to understand the characters. In first person you can actually really get to know the main character, see their thoughts, and everything.

Well some people do an amazing job at portraying people of the opposite gender and other times not so much
I really enjoy first person I just like it I don't know why
First Person is my favourite and I know some ppl are awesome at the opp gender thing.Apparently my English teacher likes when i decide to write from a male pov cuz she says u can't tell it's a girl writing it. But i like to read 3rd person too, cuz it gives a better idea of the 'bigger picture' if u know what i mean.
I agree but on one book I have read it went back and forth between the guy's and the girl's point of view. It was really confusing.
I think I like female author writing about a male character because she will write with personal experiences and the men seem wonderful as well as the women. I think it captures both characters well when the author is female.

I agree, when men write male point of views, it seems a little bit more about lust, than anything else.

Well, with guys, the men aren't that great but are more realistic or they don't give enough credit. The girls are the way guys want to see girls, pretty and perfect.
Just my opinion.
Just my opinion.

I think both men and women are guilty of that, some more than others of course
What about character flaws? What would you say are some of the most memorable moments in any book that illustrated that characters flaw?
Edward and his issue with trying to control things, when he took that car part out of Bella's car.
Jacob and his impulsivity when he kissed Bella the first time.
Alice and her naivté, when she sincerely thought Bella just wanted to go to get some food, when she asked Jasper to come.
Jasper and his lack of control when he attacked Bella.
Emmett and his big mouth when he says anything.
Rosalie and her anger, when she was so quick to convince Edward that Bella had died.
Paul and his obvious lack of refrain, when he was quick to phase when Jacob brought Bella to the pack.

Guys, what is Bella's character flaw? Clumsyness isnt a character flaw. So can you guys think of anything that makes her not a mary sue?

*Nods* I know, right?

i like 1st person. i think u get more understanding of the character. like since harry potter was in 3rd person and u didn't know the character as well (not saying rowling didn't do an incredible job) but rather than in books which is through 1st person u don't find youself saying, "why would she do that!" "how stupid!" -as much-i think that some males are good at telling storys through a females eye, (vise versa) read Maximum Ride by James Patterson

What style of writing do you prefer? First Person? Third Person omniscient? Third Person limited? etc.
