Back Into the ARENA

Some Hunger Games fans were disappointed with Catching Fire because they felt it was not a true sequel but really just a re-hashing of the original book. They were hoping to see the progression of the story after the victory but did not expect the heroes to have to endure another sessions of the games. Were you disappointed that Kat & Peeta were going back into the arena?

I have to admit I was a little surprised but not really disappointed. I didn't expect to go through another Hunger Games but I still thought the book advanced the story. I thought the author did a good job of using this book to show the growing tension in the districts and maybe that was best served through another session of the games.

I agree, Anna, I was surprised that they were going back into the game but not really disappointed as I was interested to see where the author would take the story based on this turn of events. Many new characters were brought into the story so it changed up the dynamics.

A change in dynamics was what I needed because I found the beginning of the story rather dull. When we discover that Katniss, etc have to go back into the arena it woke me up. I was shocked and pleased with this development in the story.
