YAY!

What is it?

message 5: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) This paranormal series I have been reading. The newest one, SKIN TRADE, came out yesterday so I'm reading it :)

Davis (davismattek) | 401 comments Mod
Oh, paranormal/fantasy not for me at all.

message 7: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilyamazingxx) Me either. I can't get into it. It doesn't grasp my attention.

message 8: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) lol I told you I read anything and everything :P

I'm a very open/broad minded person :D...for a rich bitch :D

I'm really not when it comes to writing/literature, I'm a total snob. I really only read the classics, philosophy, poetry or otherwise snooty literature

message 10: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) lol I'm the total opposite, I give everything a shot. :D

message 11: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilyamazingxx) I try to give everything a shot. I'm just usually picky about it afterward. They say, "Don't judge a book by it's cover"....well I have to. The cover has to look interesting, along with the title, and then i read the preview thingy on the back or inside and then the first few pages. If it grasps my attention, I get it.

Davis (davismattek) | 401 comments Mod
Cover doesn't really matter to me, I guess. I just have about 1000 books to read before I read anything contemporary I guess.

message 13: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilyamazingxx) Well the cover doesn't matter most of the time, for me.

message 15: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilyamazingxx) I agree.

Emily (emilyamazingxx) Why college when you can do just do that in the real world...

message 18: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilyamazingxx) I plan on going to college for 8 years or so that way i can get my bachelor's and master's

message 19: by Davis, Staunchly Liberal (someone has to be) (new)

message 26: by Davis, Staunchly Liberal (someone has to be) (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 401 comments Mod
I enjoyed it. You probably wouldn't though, because Andrew Jackson actually believed in representing and helping the people.

message 27: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilyamazingxx) omg how did i know you were going to insult her in some way possible?

message 28: by Katie (new)

Katie | 58 comments I'm always interested in a good book even if it might not be my way of opinion. I like to have an open mind when I read books.

I'm sure.

Emily wrote: "omg how did i know you were going to insult her in some way possible?"

Because that is how I am.

message 30: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilyamazingxx) Ehhh, true :P

message 31: by Katie (new)

Katie | 58 comments Well it's okay Emily, you kind of get use to it when all you try to do is have a nice conversation with him... And I'm going to look into the book.

If your going to read about politics, get something basic that actually explains to you what is going on. Don't read history; read current events stuff, or political philosophy. Maybe you'll begin to understand how the world actually works instead of how you think it should be.

message 33: by Katie (new)

Katie | 58 comments Okay, I have summer reading I have to do antways so might as well read more! :) So how was your week?

message 34: by Davis, Staunchly Liberal (someone has to be) (new)

Katie | 58 comments Awesome! Did you get alot done?

message 36: by Davis, Staunchly Liberal (someone has to be) (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 401 comments Mod
No, not really.

message 37: by Katie (new)

Katie | 58 comments Oh, I'm sorry to hear that...

message 38: by Davis, Staunchly Liberal (someone has to be) (new)

Davis (davismattek) | 401 comments Mod
The point isn't to 'get stuff done'. It is to try and learn how to express in words what the spirit feels it needs to say.

message 39: by Katie (new)

Katie | 58 comments I know that, it's just that you have such a strong heart and mind it's unexpected that you couldn't say everything in one word... :) (strong headed)

message 40: by Katie (new)

Katie | 58 comments hey i g2g!

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm going to start reading The Metamorphosis by Kafka. It's the first book for summer reading.

I hate summer reading. This is like the fiftieth time I've done it.

message 42: by Katie (new)

Katie | 58 comments ya i hate summer reading also, i rather be able to choose my own books instead of forced to read them.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Katie wrote: "ya i hate summer reading also, i rather be able to choose my own books instead of forced to read them."

It's not even that. It's all the million writing assignments that go along with reading the books.

message 44: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) Hm. We got to choose our own books. :

message 45: by Katie (new)

Katie | 58 comments well we have to do a test about the books and write an essay bout it...
