message 51: by rimskur (new)

rimskur Ivan released a heavy sigh. He knew his past was something he wasn't proud of. There were things he had done that he so desperately wished to forget. "Well you should visit the Red Square. It's got all the good attractions." He twitched his lips, facing her again.

message 52: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie looked back down at her food and nodded. "Red Square. Okay. What attractions are we talking about?" She wondered how the sky looked over there at night. Maybe the moon was bigger, brighter, and more enchanting over there. That was how boring she was; always thinking about the stars and the nighttime sky.

rimskur "The Kremlin is right next to it. There's a cathedral and some really big department store called GUM. I used to go there when I was little." Ivan shrugged, dipping his hand in the plate again to pick up a chip.

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

"GUM? What was so special about it?" Jaylie made a curious face. She scooped up some food on her fork and placed it in her mouth. She looked around Chipotle, wondering why there weren't many people there. It was strange. She had been seeing less and less students around here lately.

message 55: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "Nothing really. It's the initials for a Russian phrase the Soviets used." Ivan shrugged again. He bit into his meal, savoring the brilliant taste. Mexican was definitely his new favorite. "It really big though and has many fountains."

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie continued to eat and mulled everything over that was running through her mind. "I like fountains." She patted her mouth with her napkin and drank the rest of her tea. Being a water bender, somehow, made her extremely thirsty.

message 57: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "I actually fell into a fountain when I was a kid. Completely humiliated." Ivan shook his head with a grimace on his face. He remembered that when he was younger he was quite the awkwardly clumsy child.

message 58: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie looked up at him and covered her mouth to keep herself from laughing. "You just...fell in? No one pushed you?" She averted her eyes from him and slightly giggled.

message 59: by rimskur (new)

rimskur Ivan pouted his lips, with his arms crossed over his chest. "I was trying to stick a coin in the fish's mouth but I slipped!" He retorted acting childishly.

message 60: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie continued to giggle until it turned into a full laugh. She looked back over at him, quieting down, and giving a sweet smile. "You look like Todd right now." She winked, figuring her comment would probably make him mad.

message 61: by rimskur (new)

rimskur He tilted his head back in offense with his eyebrows raised and an open mouth. "Me? Look like...like Todd?" The words fell out of Ivan's mouth, his pitch rising high.

message 62: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie started to laugh again and nodded. "A more cuter version, though." She kept laughing and shook her head before scooping some of her food onto a chip.

message 63: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "There you go again! I swear, Jay, you might have an obsession with me." Ivan joked, nudging her leg with his foot.

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie blushed slightly, realizing what she had said. "Pay a guy a compliment and suddenly you have an obsession with them," she shook her head and pushed his leg away, grinning.

message 65: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "I do have to agree with you though. I am pretty damn cute." Ivan bobbed his head, a small smile on his lips. He pressed his leg up against hers teasingly.

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie's cheeks got a little hotter, and she shook her head again. "Of course you'd agree. You're so full of yourself," she looked up at him and winked once more.

message 67: by rimskur (new)

rimskur His smile formed into a large grin with teeth. "But you love me anyway." Ivan smirked, noticing the growing blush on her cheeks.

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie rolled her eyes. "Oh yeah. I just adore you," she said looking away again.

message 69: by rimskur (new)

rimskur Ivan leaned forward on the table interested. "Now look me in the eyes and say it." He tried to ignore the tightening of his shirt as he felt something in the pit of his stomach.

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie swallowed slightly and continued to stare off to the side. She shook her head while grinning. "I'm not doing this with you, Ivan. I'm not going to play your games."

message 71: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "What games?" He looked affronted, pointing to himself. "Me? Never!" Ivan shook his head in argument, lifting his drink to his lips.

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

Her eyes drifted slowly over to him, her lashes batting adorably every time she blinked. "Of course not. You're too serious for games, right?" A smiled tugged at the right corner of her lips.

message 73: by rimskur (new)

rimskur Ivan lowered himself with mock gratuity. "I'm glad you understand." He pretended to be serious before wiggling his eyebrows. Licking the remainder of his drink off his lips, he set his drink down.

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie covered her mouth again as she chuckled lightly. "You're so strange." Her light blush tent made its way back to her cheeks, and she couldn't really understand why.

message 75: by rimskur (new)

rimskur Ivan arched his eyebrows in amusement, leaning forward to grab a chip. "Hmmm...strange. I guess I am." He bit into the chip, feeling satisfied.

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie took one last bite of her food and decided she was full. She looked at her watch and grimaced. "Oh, gah. I need to get home and get some sleep. I have some things planned for the whole day tomorrow."

message 77: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "Ah...classes right. I had forgotten about them for a bit." He leaned back in his seat, stretching his arms. He pushed his plate forward to the center and took one last sip from his drink.

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

"Classes? Pssh, no. The students can do whatever they want. I have to schedule art appointments in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, France, and Nebraska. This could be my big break. I wouldn't have to teach anymore if they all took my offers and my work." She sighed at the thought of her art selling for millions.

message 79: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "Since when do you do art?" Ivan looked up at her in surprise. He saddened about the fact that she may leave but immediately pushed the strange new feeling away.

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

"See? We need to get to know each other better," Jaylie made a somewhat mock 'I told you so' face and turned it into a smile. "I was always into painting as a child, but I really got into it when I was about twenty years old. A lot of my work is hanging in a few small museums in Alabama. I'm trying to move it up to more known museums."

message 81: by rimskur (new)

rimskur He nodded his head in understanding. Impressed by this new found information, he signalled a waiter for their check. As he left, Ivan returned his attention to Jaylie. "That's brilliant, Jay. Good luck, I guess."

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

"Thank you," Jaylie grinned and felt extremely happy and proud of herself. "I would miss teaching, though. I get to talk about the stars all day long, and I get to see you, of course," she teased, but she actually thought about having to go. Odds are, she would never see him again.

message 83: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "Right, Astronomy." Ivan recalled the subject she thought. "No wonder your head is always up in the clouds, well uh sky. Never mind..." He shook his head, shrugging it off. He would miss getting to tease her if she left.

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie stuck her tongue out a little and grinned at the table. "Yeah, but maybe this will help me snap back to reality or something." She shrugged and looked back up. "But I know that you would miss me." She was grinning at him now.

message 85: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "Maybe." Ivan shrugged his shoulders, wiping his fingers on his napkin. "But it's doubtful." He added on with a smirk, tossing the napkin aside.

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie rolled her eyes and ran her hand through her hair twice. She watched the sweat from their glasses roll down to the table. "That's a shame then. I'm sure I'd miss you."

message 87: by rimskur (new)

rimskur He was about to retort she was obsessed with him but took pity on her. "Nah, I guess I would miss you too, Jay. It'll be no fun without you." He swirled the liquid in cup around before taking a sip.

message 88: by [deleted user] (new)

She shrugged and shook her head. "I was never the fun one. My idea of a good time is painting, watching stars, and eating nachos while watching Disney movies." Her grin returned, and she made his drink go back to the bottom of the cup, not able to move.

message 89: by rimskur (new)

rimskur He moved to take another sip and was disappointed to find the water not moving. "Jay!" He complained, shaking the cup. "You are fun. Now, unfreeze by drink."

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie smiled, full teeth, and let his drink flow again. "Fine, fine, but as a water bender, I have to do stuff like that. It's in my nature, and it's fun to see people's reactions."

message 91: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "Yes, yes. You've had your amusement now." He chuckled shaking his head. Ivan put his bglass to his lips, drinking the rest of it so she couldn't bend it.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

She shrugged and pulled out her wallet. "How much is the check?" She stared down at her money, brushing her thumb against each crisp bill.

message 93: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "Na ah, Jay. I'm paying." He pressed her hand down on the table and slipped out his own wallet. He checked the amount they needed and proceeded to taking out his credit card.

message 94: by [deleted user] (new)

"What? No, Ivan. You always pay. Let me get it this time," Jaylie said trying to pull her hand up from under his. "It's not fair if you pay every time."

message 95: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "Please, I'm sure you've paid before." He raised his eyebrows skeptically, handing the waiter his card. "I guess you can mae it up to me another way." Ivan shrugged.

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

"You never let me," Jaylie said while putting her wallet back into her pocket. "Oh, yeah. What's that?" She stared at him and cocked her head to the side.

message 97: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "I don't know..." Ivan trailed off in thought. "I'll tell you when you should cash in your favor." A smirk rest on his lips, his fingers picking off invisible balls of lint on his shirt.

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

Jaylie crossed her arms over her chest and shook her head a little in anticipation. "So I'm in debt to you now? Couldn't you just let me pay the check?"

message 99: by rimskur (new)

rimskur "Nope." He popped the letter with his lips pressed together briefly. "This way is much more amusing."

message 100: by [deleted user] (new)

She pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes at him. "Fine." She stood up and pulled her hair back over onto her shoulders.
