rimskur The click of the door signaled her entry. A small and short bell rung as it jiggled over the top of the door, alerting the hostess at the front that another customer had arrived. With a neutral expression, Juliet stepped inside the restaurant, eager to have her favorite meal. It was quite busy here today as she should have expected considering the name. But she had had her hopes up that she would have a nice evening at this verybrestaurant. She awaited to be seated in a small booth by the front of the door.

((Ah crap, thought I'd posted. One sec, it's an easy post, I already have it on my google docs. One moment please. Sorry!))

Admittedly River should have been paying more attention, what with all the people in the building, accompanied with the fact everybody was on edge at the moment.
So, needless to say, it was his fault when he bumped into the large man in front of him. Said large man was more grizzly bear, really, all muscle, brawn and hair. River's eyes widened as everything seemed to happen in slow motion. His drink tipped forward at the jolting action, Gravity tugged at the liquid inside the cup as it sloshed over the rim, spilling down the large guys front and... mostly on his crotch.

The man stood there for a moment, either in shock or waiting for his tiny brain to catch up. When he raised his head there was a fire in his eyes.
Now, being a werewolf you would think River could hold his own, but due to something unknown, he really wasn't that strong. A sharp push to unbalance him, followed by a fist across the pale boys cheek was enough to send him backwards... Onto a girl sitting at a booth behind him.

The angry, hot-headed jock who obviously had aggression issues, was advancing again, but luckily the employees had noticed, and stepped in, two of them ushering the angry grizzly-man outside.
Another worker approached River, apologizing and offering him and his girlfriend a free meal, a free drink, or anything to apologize.
River, finally noticing he was, in fact, still practically sitting on the girls lap he had landed on.
Swiftly and as fluidly as he could, River slid of Juliet's lap.
"Oh wow, I am so sor-" He started to apologize, cut off as the worker asked him to 'please be seated and what would you and your girlfriend be wanting. Here, I will got get a menu.'.
"Her? Oh no, she's not my-" River tried again, but the employee had already scuttled off.
With a sigh, River awkwardly moved to sit opposite Juliet, smiling shyly at her.
"I hope you don't mind if I sit here, and I am so sorry I... landed on you."
He finished, the faintest flush of embarrassment noticeable in his cheeks.

rimskur She was settled nicely in her booth, relieved that though the place was busy, she was able to find a quiet place to sit and enjoy her meal. It had been much too long since she last ate out and she wwas especially eager to order. As she flipped through the menu, searching for the title of her choice, she heard a shifting of tables and a snap. Her nec craned so that she could look at the commotion at hand when a dark flash interrupted her vision and a heavy figure collided with her. A cry of surprise parted from her lips as the force made her knock into the table. Grunting, she shoved at the figure hard with her hands. Her eyes were dark and steely as the boy exchanged words with the waiter, all anouncements flickering by without her objection. Her lips blew back the hair that had fallen in her face as she looked at the male before her. "What the hell was that?" Juliet exclaimed to him, ignoring his apology. It was a nice try for her to think she would ever get a quiet evening.

Half wincing, half smiling River chuckled lightly, brief but not unsure.
"Hardly my fault" he lied.
"I am sorry, about being pushed onto you and now impeding on your evening." He tried. An all to real voice in his head told him to snap at the girl, how dare she be so rude to him? He was about to get her free food?
River shut the voice up with practices ease, settling in his seat before asking "Have you already ordered? If not, I suggest you order soon, seeing as it appears to be free of charge at the moment"

rimskur Her glare faltered for a second as she eyed the male in front of him, not keen on spending her evening with a total stranger. She sighed, running a hand through her hair as she was passed a menu. Free food? If her evening was going to be interrupted, she would take this chance. "No, I haven't yet." Juliet mumbled, before looking through the menu again. It felt strangely comfortable to be sitting wth this guy, but she wasn't one to jist spaek up conversation with one.

River tried a grin when the girl opposite him glance at him. A cold aura emanated from her, ever so slightly, causing the were to shiver.
"My name is River, what's yours?" He asked, trying to seem casual and probably failing. Why was he so nervous? No, not nervous... Alert.
Did his wolf sense something he didn't? River tried not to look to jumpy, but his metaphorical and literal hackles were rising. His canine teeth itched to elongate, but there was no way River was going to loose control.
No way.

message 10: by rimskur (new)

rimskur Her eyebrows knit as she stared down at the menu, contemplating over what to order. It was the same every time she came here but for some reason, she always made herself look through the menu and search for something. But of course, she was always drawn to that one meal. She bit down on her lip, nibbling on it slightly as she put the menu down and acknowledged that the boy across from her was actually speaking to her. Her lips were dry as she looked up at him, noticing something chsnging about him. "Juliet." She finally introduced herself to him, one eyebrow arched over the other as she looked over at him.

(Omf, just realised auto correct gave him canoe teeth rather than canine teeth.)

"Wonderful to meet you, Juliet" River said as he started to relax.
"Heads up." He said as the waiter came towards them.
"The workers here are like bugs" The boy said absentmindedly.
"Small, yet somewhat intimidating in the way their eyes do on you before they scuttle towards you.."
As soon as the employee arrived at their table River shut up and simply ordered a drink.
The waiter tuned to Juliet " And for you?" He asks patiently with a polite smile still in place.

message 12: by rimskur (new)

rimskur ((I was confused when I saw that lol))

She pinched her lips, somewhat amused by his strange talk. No, normal people wouldn't compare their servers as bugs in their first conversation. They would try to impress the other in some neat way that would instantly capture their attention. Sure, she was listening to him, but was she interested? "Oh, yeah?" Juliet raised her eyebrows, pretending to nod along in agreement. She nearly couldn't control the laughs she attempted to stifle as a waiter arrived at their table, his eyes flashing onto both of them. Shrugging her shoulders at River, she ordered her own drink with a smile in the waiter's direction.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

As the waiter 'scuttled' off again, River snickered, before straightening up and looking at Juliet, a sheepish look on his face.
"Sorry about that, I'm just a bit... Tired. There's ben a bit of a problem where I stay, and I would be lying if I said it wasn't bothering me. How 'bout you, do you live around here, or are you just passing through?"
River asked, eyes going wide as he quickly amended "Not that I'm trying to get your address or anything!"
It took all the pale guy had not to facepalm.

message 14: by rimskur (new)

rimskur She had been correct in thinking that he would be great entertainment. Not but nearly five minutes had passed and he had already embarrassed himself. She didn'teven have to lift a finger or say a word to achieve that accomplishment. "I'm sure you're just dying to get in my bed." Juliet rolled her eyes, her lips rising at the ends. He was akward and talkative, a mismatched persona for a normal person. He was attempting to fix his slip in his words and it was amusng to see him fumble aroundwith his hand gestures and his quick words to fix it. "Relax. I go to the school here. We live in dorms." She said as if he should have known that. Was he nit attending Groversdale?

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

He knew where this coversation was going, and didn't really like it.
"Well, sounds like the one I'll be attending soon. I'm... Newish here"
River went silent for a moment.
"And I do find you very attractive, but I would not be as bold or stupid as to make a move after just meeting you, or as oblivious as to assume you find me attractive" he said, slightly rushed.
I can't do this. Girls are Rapid's kind of thing...
River slumped slightly, but straightened up when their drinks arrived.

message 16: by rimskur (new)

rimskur She looked at him skeptically, her eyes scanning his face up and down as she attempted to fit him in to anyone she had seen around campus. No, she hadn't seen him before. It was normal though. While Groversdale was very lrge, there was approximately one hundred students total in the entire school. It was easy to get to know everyone unlike having three hundred or four hundred students per grade. "So you're assuming that I think you're attractive?" Juliet crossed her arms over her chest as she leaned back against the seat she was in.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

"Well..." River began. ' I am and I know it' a small voice at the front of his mind said smoothly, the sneer nearly audible in the tone alone.
River shook his head slowly as he thought about what to say next.
"I don't think that. For all I know you could be bisexual, antisexual or asexual... Etcetera." He said slowly "And therefore not even begin to consider being attracted to me, among other reasons" he said, mind whirring as he tried not to offend or make a fool of himself... Although he had already done both quite enough.
"But... while I am not arrogant, I am hardly modest. I do realise my looks are not unappealing to some."

message 18: by rimskur (new)

rimskur He appeared to be coming up with a suitable response to her question. Jt wasn't exactly a hard question to answer.it could be a one word answer. Yes or no. But he knew from the way he had been interacting with her that he would never stoop to one word answers. She was right when he gave her a whole explanation as to why ne assumed that perhaps she thought that he was attractive. "Your only satisfactory." Juliet responded eventually, her shoulders shrugging carelessly. She never held back her opinions. Yes,he was attractive and she admitted it out loud to him. "And for your information, I am heterosexual. Males only." She rolled her eyes.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

"Satisfactory? Looks like I have some work to do then" River said, shifting slightly and averting his eyes as he took another sip of his drink. It was one he had not tried before, but to him it tasted a bit like cold tea and something a bit more... spicy.
"Usually I do not talk this much, believe it or not, but you interest me. I assume you go to..." The boys voice dropped in volume a bit before he continued "Groversdale? If so, may I ask what you are?"
He smiled, meeting her beautiful gaze once again.

message 20: by rimskur (new)

rimskur She raised her eyebrows, watching him carefully. He had a twisted expression as he took a sip of his drink before looking back at her. Rolling her eyes, she pulled her own straw to her lips and sipped the cold soft drink into her mouth. She decided that perhaps her evening would be better than what she had originally planned. Everyone needed a bit of surprise in their lives and while she wasn't quite fond of it, she needed it the most. Instead of platonic relations, she should reach out to others more often. "Considering we're on campus..." Juliet rolled her eyes again. "Yeah, I do." She chuckled, settling back in her seat. "I'm a demon. What are you?" She asked, sending him a fake frightening look.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

(( I really am sorry for the shortness, but since I'm busy I thought you might appreciate a quick post rather than none at all))

At her suitably demonic look River just smirked let out a low growl that was definitely not human.
"I'm your normal, everyday lap wolf." he said with a shrug.
"Demon, eh? Born on Earth or in the land down under... I mean hell, not Australia. Although I've heard they're quite similar."

message 22: by rimskur (new)

rimskur ((It's cool. I'm attempting to read, but I keep getting distracted.))

A look of interest passed over her features as the other expression slipped away. His growl brought a smirk to her face. A werewolf, then? She hadn't really met anyone of the other species yet. She had a couple of friends and one of them was in fact a werewolf. She rolled her eyes at what she thought was his attempt to be funny. But she wouldn't admit that she was fighting to keep a smile away from her lips. "I was born in Hell but raised on Earth." Juliet told him, shrugging her shoulders. "Were you born a werewolf or were you bitten?" She asked him, her eyebrows quirking in curiosity.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

((XD I know the feeling too well... Although mine involves writing Philosophy papers...))

River fought a wince off at her question, simply raising his eyebrows slightly.
He really should have expected that question.
"Ah, neither, actually." He said.
He put his fingers to the collar of his v-neck top and pulled it down over his shoulder to show of two pink, wide scratch marks that ran jagged lines from the top of his shoulder, and down over where his heart was placed.
"Scratched. Involuntarily, may I add." He smirked and pulled his top back into place.
To be honest, River was quite interested and wanted to ask after the girls past, but peoples history can be an uncomfortable place, especially for the one recounting... So he didn't. He refocused on his drink, waiting for Juliet to speak again.

rimskur ((I have all this summer homework that I am procrastinating with. School starts back on August 18th but it is going by way too fast.))

She raised her eyebrows, her forearms resting on the table as she expectantly waited for him to answer her question. It wasn't very nice of her to be so blunt, but she had let her curiosity get the best of her, and did what she did. She hoped that he could understand that, but wasn't sure whether or not that was something he thought controlled her. Because it did. Curiosity ruled her every decision and every action. She wholly depended on it to encourage her into doing things she normally wasn't too keen on doing. "Nice scar." Juliet commented, her lips parted as she stared at the pink scratched across his torso. She wasn't fazed by the sight of his chest, but her body shook with shivers at seeing the scars left behind by whatever werewolf wanted to change him. "So...are you like any average werewolf?" She asked him.
