Nathan just got off work when he got a call from his little sister,"Hello Eleanor." He said wondering what made her call him at three o'clock in the morning. Was it another nightmare or what?
"H-Hi.", she said quietly, "You're coming home right?", she asked hopefully, as she was sitting on her bed. She truthfully was missing him. Since he started getting a job and was soon moving out, she felt the need to spend every moment with him.
"Yeah," He breathed out as he got in his truck. "Feel like a early breakfast?" He asked trying to figure out something for them to do before he goes to sleep at 8 o'clock.
"Yeah. That sounds great.", she mumbled, as she got up to find her shoes in the dark. "Pick me up?", as she quietly made her way down the stairs, as to not wake their parents.
"I'm right around the corner." He said sweetly, "Meet you outside." He added as he hung up.
She went outside, shutting the door behind, her and saw his car pull up. She ran over to it and hopped in, giddy. She stopped though. She didn't know why she felt so giddy. It was only her brother.
"So feel like chicken and waffles?" He asked looking at her and smiled, "You look pretty." He complemented her.
"Yes!", she said, smiling crookedly at him. A hint of red came to her cheeks. Was she blushing? She didn't reply to him, but she nodded.
He pulled out of the drive way than looked at her, "So how's luck with that guy you keep telling me about? What's his name again Danny?"
"Uh yeah. And it's not going too well.", she lied, twiddling with her hands. She hated lying to him, but he could never know it was him.
"That's a shame." He said as he pulled into the waffle house parking lot . No one knew but he was secretly attracted to his sister.
"Yeah I guess so.", she said, as she got out of the car, shutting her door and waited by the entrance for him, her hands crossed across her chest.
He got out of the truck and closed the door. "He'll come around." He started looking down at her. "I promise." He finished off by kissing her lightly on the forehead.
"I don't think he will.", she said quietly, "But thanks.", she blushed like mad when he had kissed her forehead. "Just kiss me on the lips.", she thought, but then stopped. No. Her brother. Not a regular guy. Her brother.
"Why not?" He asked looking down at her before heading into the restraunt. "Is he giving you a hard time?" He wondered thinking that maybe just maybe he could look like a hero in her eyes.
As they got to a booth, she shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know.", she said quietly, as she sat, not wanting to press the topic further. She didn't get why he was asking all these questions.
"Come on, do I know him?" He asked curiously after he took his order.
"You might.", she said, pursing her lips nervously as she took her order as well, not meeting his eyes.
He looked at her,"Okay I have a question for you and I want the honest answer. Are you attracted to me?"
Eleanor looked at him, as if he had read her thoughts. "Yes.", she said gulitly, wringing her hands. Her cheeks were bright red, her eyes looking at the ground.
"I've been attracted to you since you were 15." He whispered honestly blushing himself.
She looked at him, silent for a while. "Honestly?", she said, as she shifted in her seat a little.
"Yes." He said as the waiter came with their food.
As the waiter set down the food, she suddenly just wanted to leave. She had so many thoughts running through her head. Wanting him to kiss her for one. But she stopped herself.
"Thank you." Nathan said eating his food like crazy. "So how long?" He asked wondering about how much she liked him more than a sister is supposed to.
"For awhile.", she said, just looking at her hands. "After you said you were moving out of the house and started to move on with your life, I realized it then."
"Really?" He smiled finishing his food. "I thought you were into this Danny guy." He joked now knowing Danny was actually him. "You're not going to tell our parents right?"
"Of course not.", she mumbled. "I'm not stupid Nathan.", she said, as she watched him eat.
"Just making sure." He said as he pushed his plate away feeling full.
She nodded, and as Nathan paid, she stood up, waiting for them, as they both walked outside. The sun had started to slowly turn the sky a different color, and Eleanor couldn't help but smile as she stopped walking to look.
"It's beautiful." He said looking at it as well but before he started to walk to the truck he looked down at Eleanor and thought for a moment not sure if he should but he leans down and kisses her full on the lips.
Eleanor was surprised for a second, but she lightly kissed him back, her hands slipping around his waist, as on instinct.
He pulled away,"You don't know how long I've wanted to do that." He said with a slight laugh.
Eleanor giggled, and removed her hands and got into his truck, her heart beating fast. She could still feel where his lips had met hers and she loved it.
"So what would you like to do today?" He asked realizing it was his day off.
"Whatever you want to.", she said back, wanting badly to just kiss him again. She was sitting forward with her eyes looking out the windshield, the car still parked.
He looked at her, "Want to go camping for the weekend?" He asked remembering that he had a three day weekend.
"Sure.", she replied easily, looking at him now, and how close his hand was to hers. She inched her way toward his, smirking slightly. "I would love to."
He smirked,"Let's get your stuff and just let mom and dad know that I'm taking you to a friends house so you could go camping with her." He winked knowing that his little sister was an excellent liar.
